World Of Hempy

Think im going to try the PK 13/14 for a week starting monday. Beggining of week 3 when budset is in full effect and then again at week 5-6 to see if it helps. Thoughts? Jela?
Shiva, as for starting pk13/14 adds, the sweet spot for me is sometimes late week 4 but mostly week 5. When the small puff balls of buds just start connecting up and down the colas is the time to start. You don't want to go more than 7-10days (about 3 feedings for me) or the plants start getting really "ragged" looking. I drop my base nutes about 2ml/gal as well to reduce tip burns. It is some hot stuff.
Here's what my plants typically look like when I start the adds.

I've got a question for your friend. I remember the original concept of the enlarged rez in the tubs, with the nice cut-out lids to repel light. With his newer tighter packing of bottles, is there a need for the lid? And I would imagine that the air stones would have to go also?
Experimenting for swim has been a real pleasure and he found out pretty quick that the air stones could easily be removed with little effect, also you can get away without watering from the top ever! ( as they are so close together) you can just fill the tray to 2", swim found that he could fill to 3" and leave them for a week at a time, even in week 6 of flower, obviously even longer if they are younger!B
But these were all just trials for swims holiday ,which is why swim changed to passive hydro. Swim generally feeds about an inch every 3 days or so and lets them dry out between but they would be happy enough standing in 2" water start to finish imo
The correx board is still used, and its a bitch to cut, but it really gives the girls stability and stops dead leaves falling in the drink

Originally I didn't think the system would work,,,, light algae, contamination, nute concentration. But your friend worked out the kinks, & thanks for retuning and reporting the results. Now that it's been established that the larger rez will work without any problems, I'd have to now say that this could be the easiest method to run trays of 2L's. Obviously there's more upfront work, but for easier day to day maintenance is a fair trade in my mind.
Sounds like a person could get 4 to 5 days on a 2" rez if it was to get close to dry?

I've got a strain that I think would be a good sog candidate. I was thinking of just a couple of totes with 18 plants in each (no bottles/direct plant)
But with your friends success, I may drill some holes in the bottom of my 2L bottles and go that route.

Swim just did a run with 10 gallon totes with 15 plants in each tote because he saw this video ages ago and wanted to try a similar method but i seem to remember this guy uses mapito, and his setup is sick to say the least, and his pheno must be a mutant!

http://youtu.be/3Sa1IIgmtqY

Swim thought bigger root mass=bigger buds and gave the girls the standard 4 to 5 days grow time after clones were planted ,just to get the roots to the res, and treated them exactly the same as the 2l and compered bud size, the totes won hands down with fatter colas and much more weight ! they did take a little longer but they were all the same strain compared, and clear to see the difference.
However there were some drawbacks, such as you cant rotate or move them,(although you can bend and crop). And you cant take them out individually or see the roots, but good strain and placing would help when dialed in.And its just not as easy as 2ltrs so what with swim being a lazy bastard he just did just a few totes, but it was worth it to see his biggest pineapple nuggets :weed:

A few of the girls wanted their pics taken tonight.

Here's my Snow White. Tonight I tied her main branches back just a little to let the secondary growth get more light. I think she's gonna appreciate it.

Gorgeous plants Steelie!

So i cooked 8 ounces of trim into a lb of butter...it wasnt the best trim but there were definitely a lot of buds and nodes in there. Last batch i cooked 4 ounces of bud and sugar trim and ive been making caramels....a 1 inch by 2 inch piece works quite well....3 pieces and i took a nap hah!

Im guessing this new batch of butter will be a tad bit stronger even though its not as good of trim its twice as much. Planning suckers and such. I must say decarboxylating makes a huge potency difference...along with cooking lower temperature treats. Cookies dont turn out as potent even with the same butter and im pretty sure its the baking temp.

Yeah WOH is the best thread ive found on any grow site and ive been a member of most of them for years or in years past. Gotta thank MOE for getting it going. Id have to say Hempy is definitely top two of favorite grow methods. I do love NFT growing but hempy is damn close in productivity (once roots hit res) I think that bubble cloning would be/is a great way to get nice long roots for transplant.

What really trips me out is most of my girls this round are rockwool/hydroton exclusively...and i dont even pH my feedings now...they dont seem to need it....also i fed my girls 1440 ppm @ .65 conversion and they ate it happily.

melted some good choc chips in double boiler with table spoon of ganja butter and dipped some ganja caramel in it then sprinkled with sea salt.....best damn ganja infused treat ive ever made! Ganja flavor goes very very well..just make sure you use washed butter. I wash mine 5-6 times.

I have read a few times that hempys dont need the ph to be spot on, and i didn't believe it until i saw swims hempys handle whatever ph they get!
It really is the advisable method for beginners, and experienced growers imo.

On the subject of infused weed, swim has been making his own DMT from the Mimosa tree and fusing it with Og Kush to make the very popular Changa, now this is nothing like smoking pot but the weed makes it taste and feel a lot better, everyone imho should have a dabble in dmt at least once, and if you like it,which you will, you can make it, so quick and easy ,and its cheap as chips ! when its infused with weed you can 'breakthrough' to hyperspace much easier than any other method of administering, and when your 10 minute trip is done and you have spoken to the 'elves', you are left with the feeling of a nice bowl hit of weed to reflect on your journey with

Just checking in guys, Enjoying some super strong Starbucks coffee...Kinda bummed tonight, going to spread some of his ashes. It's hard for me to even look at them let alone to drop them in the water, but I'm hoping it will make me feel better. Liking the sun and fun here in Florida...but way way too many people and too much traffic...Might head to the beach for a nice Sunburn.

My tent door flopped open on my wife (oh..my dirty mind) and broke off a lower branch on a "Crazy Miss Hyde" currently at 9 days of 12/12. I remembered posting a link here on WOH about "beer bottle cloning" so I quickly cut the stem at 30° and slammed it into a beer bottle of tap water. I tossed it under 18/6, 65k floro with no dome, just other house plants. It's been 4 days and the leaves look near perfect. I'll show you the roots if they ever form...

Hopefully Dank is just on vacation or something. Spesking of ..im going to puerto vallarta in october for Dia de la Muerta. Anyone been to that area? Never been there and hoping to check out some pre european architecture if any exists in the region.

Jela when i lollipopped my plants this weekend i stuffed about 100 branches into some vases with tap water and hormones and stuck em under a closet cfl just for kicks. Wondering if ill see results with clear glass.

It's not good news, Moe got popped. Go to post #5600 (it's the last post on page 560)
and WOH has not been the same since... as Moe is the heart & soul of this thread......but I know he does want us to keep on growing and posting pics and chatting and share ideas and asking questions...so to that

I am really at lost as when to hell I should chop....these damn auto-flowers are pissing me off big time.

I'm not impressed with this strain....it's not meeting my expectations, and my standards are likely lower than yours!

Almost all the trichromes I see are milky....very few are clear unless you look at the bottom scrub buds......but I do not see any amber anywhere, yet.

IMO...they are running into overtime.....so he game should be over but yet I don't feel comfortable/confident chopping....feedback welcomed
