World Of Hempy

One method I tried was - to take a pic on my digital camera at the 'highest' setting (12megapixel or something). Then put the pic onto my computer and using 'MS paint' or 'Quicktime pictureviewer' or similar program 'ZOOM' into a portion of the picture to see the Trichomes. ..... It works quite well.

edit:
Actually, I have some GDP Hempy's that need checking, I'll 'try' and demonstrate what I mean. ..
This is just to demo what I've did in the past. It didn't work perfect this time because of my Camera flash. I'm sure there are better techniques.

My snow white is starting to take off in 12/12. She's a bushy beast. I'll take a pic whwn lights come on tonight. I threw my white widow and the ultimate in last night. I wanted to let them veg a little longer but we're starting to run low on smoke. Took my son fishing today at a pond where I deer hunt. I was pleasantly suprised when we started pulling out big bluegills. We kept 8 and fried em up for dinner. Doesnt get much better!

Nice Moe, I'll try it,

I put up another front door today, the house was built in 1875, so I'm sure it was the original...I'll use it elsewhere...I found one at a sale about 1920 ish with beveled glass and an old screen for 10.00, it fit perfect, I had to move the hinges but it's up now...and the screen too, looks great 3 panes of vintage beveled glass in a long pattern,,,she needs stripping and painting, I'll look at that issue later, for now she fits and looks great.

Nice to see so many good looking grows since my last post. WC100 work does help divert the heart. I myself have been clearing out the house to get the living area ready to paint unlike you I'm going to have a couple of pro's do the painting, they can do in a day what would take me a month.

So for the 1st time I ordered some seeds from the UK, I've always been a little paranoid. Haven't mentioned it till the seeds arrived, didn't want to jinx anything. Bought 20 got 7 free.

Bought The PE Autos to try outdoors to finish early, The Mandala are an old school monster I want to play with this next winter. TGA are AOS

Out of all the swag crap I picked up at the Can Cup there was one item that I almost threw out because I thought it would be bogus. It was a humidity stylization packet, by Med-Fresh and sister company Smoke-Fresh. Well instead of throwing it out I had some bud that was crispy and put a few few buds in with the packet, next day they were perfect again. I then threw the packet into a slightly larger jar with some good bud that had slightly over dryed, and it now feels and smokes good as new. The one thing that really threw me off is that this packet maintains 62% relative humidity within a container. I've always thought that 62% was way too wet. Now I'm all confused.

Just a warning for anyone using walmart cheapo plastic drip pans or anyone who does not have their power cords suspended, the other day about an hour after i watered my plants i checked on them and what i found was that one of my drip pans had a hole in it and was leaking, my grow room came about a foot away from having some major problems, i've known i should have my power cords suspended for a while but i was being lazy and thought meh nothing is gonna happen but i came very close to something very bad possibly happening, so i hung my power cords from the wall and went and got some rubber made tubs to use as drip pans for my crates and i cut them to fit.

That is so awesome moe, i've wondered for years how people got such great shots of the resin glands i always thought they had some super camera, it never even occurred to me to try and zoom in with editing software lol.

Pslio, I try to keep all my cords up, I use zip ties to hold them, I staple a ziptie to the ceiling or whatever, then I can open them or just slide thru the loop, I want them out of the way.

I use rubbermaid tubs and plastic window boxes, they hold 4 2 liter hempys, convienient when you don't have the 18 or 21 for the underbed totes.

I also took some advice from Outdoor sun king, he said make sure your lights are tied off in 2 places, he called it stoner's insurance, saved my plants more than once.

Yes, it suddenly just came to me after wondering for a while.

Also, once you have zoomed into the pic, the Microsoft 'snipping' tool is a great way of making a picture of the new zoomed image.

Congrats on the order. You have some really nice freebies there too.

That packet rehydration thingy sounds interesting. ...... . One thing I realized with what seems to be slightly over-dried bud that if you leave it for longer in a jar, sometimes moisture comes out to produce a more 'even' dry.

or maybe that's my imagination.

edit:
What is the TGA strain? .. I'm unfamiliar with the acronym AOS.

The 2nd test subject was a ceramic jar I sealed back in Nov. It was better smoke than when I sealed it with the aging, but after the pouch, its really smooth. Kinda like the difference between a cigar left in the car for a few days and one fresh out of the humidor.

It's the 62% that's got me confounded. I've always tried to drop the moisture to around 40%, but I believe I'm wrong if this thing is really setting and holding the RH level at a constant.

I'm not really good when it comes to reading off the numbers thing. Ive never checked the RH of a room or jar so have little comprehension of what the numbers mean in practice.

I'm more of a 'wet my finger and hold it in the air' kind of guy. I do find bud easier to keep if its a dense strain though. The more 'wispy' the strain, the more likely it dries to a powder over time.

On a different note I took a plant down today.

Home cross Maui Wowie X the male my bud brought (though it was a purple heroin)
About 1 month veg from seed 14" (finish 38")
2gal bucket, OC nutes
8wks to the day 12/12
Stretched fast didn't fill in. Very tight little nugs with lots of sticky gloss. We'll see how it smokes and tastes in a few wks. There are 4 main stocks the back 2 are hidden in 1st photo, 2nd photo shows a stem on the wall. Hopin' it smokes like it's sticky.

Cheers, never heard of it. Its one that I missed.

edit:
If its super popular, I now sound really silly. ... like someone saying they've never heard of Northern Lights or AK47 LOL
Not sure of its popularity, but I was recently reading about it. Lol
