This country was founded on immigrants. I think the american dream should be available for anyone in the world willing to behave thenselves. Who are we to deny People, Esp. the children?
Wow, haven't heard that one before. DUDE, you got to realize, that at some point the influx for MILLIONS undetected immigrants has a MAJOR IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY, MY TAXES, AND YOUR SHIT OPINION. No offense, but, there comes a point when the economy literally needs to catch up with the population. And let's not get in to how your and my well-being is affected financially by this influx. Educate yourself before forming an opinion.

Edit: And while your at it, check out the punishment for entering Mexico illegally. haha, you'd be glad to stay out of there.

It's funny how some people, we'll call them racists, blame the economic impact of illegal immigration as their beef. We all know WAY more is spent and lost on WAR and corporations.
ya. but im the ignorant one. im the one telling others what they need to do. the spit doesnt fall far from the mouth.....
thanx neosapien for posting a ready made reply for all smilez.

But again, most of the jobs their taking our jobs you wouldn't take. Like working in a field all day long for way below minimum wage. When you go to the grocery store, the only reason your not paying more for that food then you are is BECAUSE of illegal immigrants. Many farmers were complaining that without illegals they couldn't afford to hire work to harvest their fields.
That isn't true.
Plenty of people worked in the fields back in the 30's before the big influx of immigrants.
Nowadays, I doubt they would in the numbers we need to do the job....but to say Americans wouldn't work in the fields I believe is false.

Second, the field producers and owners MUST pay their workers...ALL of them....minimum wage. It's the law.
They may be trying to skirt the law, but if they get caught they get slapped on the wrist.

I follow this issue rather closely, have for a long time, growing up here in S. Ca.
Most of the field owners pay minimum.
It's the working conditions that are horrific. Little water on hot days, few to no breaks, no shade, that kind of stuff. The owners can get away with that easier than they can get away with paying less than min.

As for grocery prices going way up if they couldn't take advantage, that of course is true.
I would be willing to put up with that, if this country could get their collective shit together, and issue temp. status to them, and improve the working conditions.
But we seem so goddamn polarized on their legality, we can't get anything else done that would help the situation.

But I think the immigrants came in through Ellis Island and we knew who they were. Maybe people like you would be willing to exchange you move to where they came from and they come here. Or maybe you should bring them into your house and support them. Good idea.

Personally, I dont think they should be allowed in school if they are illegal. Or qualify for state assistance
Why is that? My thinking is better some illegal kids get some benefits and goto school than a citizen get some benefits and blow it all on dope and a car for her brother.

its just a bunch of racist legislation, these laws could be instated and meantto help america but they are not....bunch of racist old guys sitting around sayingtings like "god damn beaners ruined my town"! or " better get em out of here before we turn into california"!
Well, if what you say is true....then why would saying " better get em out of here before we turn into california"...be a derrogitory statement?
Have you been to California lately? Lived there perhaps?

I've been in this state for 52 years.
I've watched, witnessed first hand how our schools have gone from some of the best in the country, to some of the trashiest shit-holes that ever passed for a classroom.
When I was in school, my classroom had carpet, TV's, the best equipment .....now all of that is gone. I had drivers ed., free.....we used cars specially designed for learners.
There was high-tech (high tech for 1974-5) classrooms with rudamentary simulaters. Science used to be fun because we always had the right supplies. The gyms were clean, there was almost no such thing as grafetti(sp), save for the declarations of "love" written on some of the lockers....lockers that were always painted and fresh each new year.

Now some classrooms have over 50 students.
The lockers almost never get cleaned and painted, and they stink.
Supplies? Fugetaboutit. They almost don't exist except for what the teachers buy themselves. Most schools can't even afford to fucking paint over all the squaller written on the hall walls.

I see this unfold before my eyes and have for years.
Illegals now pour over the border at a steady rate, and here in the southernmost area of the state, some of the classrooms are almost entirely mexican....which I wouldn't have any trouble with....if we could have just been a little more intelligent about this from the begining.

The problem is pretty basic.
We have WAY more people wanting to come live in this state, then they have the ability to pay for in the way of taxes to keep up.

I'm no racist. My ex daughter-in-law is mexican.
My uncle is mexican.
My granddaughter is mexican.
Most of my family speaks spanish...(unfortunately, I am not one of them...I speak some but am not fluent)
My son employs many mexicans at his business (plastic injection moulding....they are paid far above min. wage)

All I know is something needs to be done, and from where I stand, the solution ISN'T to simply continue allowing them to come here so freely, and hand them a free education. Or healthcare and food and housing, for that matter.
I understand the human rights issues....and i doubt I'd be able to turn anyone away that stood before me and needed help, but it is painfully obvious we can't continue on this path for much longer before this state implodes.

Not only that, but if you learn a little about what those immigrants went through to gain entrance at Ellis Island back then, you would realize that isn't a good argument to state your position.
When folks came off the boats into Ellis Island, they were health screened, had to show reason for staying here. They had to have a skill of some sort.
The way many were treated by immigration back then, was racist....and if we tried to do that today, WWIII would start over the "unfair" treatment.
