My fellow RIU'ers!
can any one give me a rough estimate on yield to room size. Gonna start framing this weekend and want to kinda spec it out! Any input is greatly appreciated... i understand less room needed for Veg. and More for flower! But trying to figure out a roughly expected yeild to sq.footage ratio... :wall:

excellent! thanks bro! im thinking a 4x4 veg & 8x8 flower room seems ideal. i hope cuz that all i got for the space... any idea on good ppm meters and hydrometers? good brands that will last! dont mind the up front cost if they are gonna be good for a while... thanks again tib..

hortilux for lamps, bluelab for meters. you haven't even mentioned soil or hydro, that will certainly determine yield more than anything.

environmental controller, CAP if you're cheap about it but they get the job done. then you need all the shit to plug into it.

oh right, plenty of pesticide and an airless paint sprayer to apply, don't forget a respirator for the hardcore stuff.

if you're growing for yield and are able (mentally , physically and financially) hydro is where it's at.

i think u should do a lot more research before u just start dumping money into something u dont fully understand. how were u planning on cooling the area ur growing in when the temps reach 90+ degrees? also u might want to research nutrient companies and start researching feeding schedules and what a marijuana plant actually needs to grow and flower so u dont burn them up or completely starve them. also 2 pounds isnt easy for someone to pull if that person has never grown weed before. im guessing ur first yield to be less than a pound in a 4x4 unless u do more homework.

also a good tip. stay with one nutrient companies lineup until u understand a little more about what ur trying to grow. then browse and piece ur nutes together. mixing and matching can be hard unless u have a little growing experience and knowledge behind it.

also try looking and browsing thru peoples grow room designs and figure out how to do it up right. becuz u will hate it when u suddenly find out u need to dump more random money into something u may have missed before.

similiar lighting with hydro? that might sound kinda dumb i guess... definitely have a decent amount of room and want to make the most out of the space. i havent fully committed to a system yet but yeild is good, quality is best. both is amazing.. haha - thats sounds kinda greedy i guess lol

dudes right though, you're going over basics right now, all this you could find here a thousand times over IF the goddamn search engine worked right :/

just kidding, I don't know if the search engine works or not, it seems too flaky to deal with so I avoid it.

yea i think my excitement is getting the best of me at this point... ive been reading for days and cant stop i feel like. haha- i printed the foxfarm nutes schedule and wanted to go with that system for starters. my buddy gave me some good stuff to start with... i am going to order lighting so i have it, im framing it for 2 rooms a 4x4 veg and 8x8 flower. i have the stand alone ac unit, and i have a carbon filter. hopefully run the HVAC this weekend after framing it all out and wrapping the walls, ceilings, and floors. any idea how much air i should be pushing for something like this ( as far as intake to exhaust)? thank you for the help bro, its much appreciated... ill keep researching as well

I'm actually in the hvac field and hate to talk about ventilation but someone here will talk to you about it! if this is all new to you expect surprises even with the best of planning.research.
