Yeah, MH is veg and hps is flower.

Why are you getting a ppm meter if your growing soil?

And hydro has a ton of advantages over soil, provided you can keep your water temps in range. Just not having to haul dirt, fill buckets and dispose of dirt makes hydro worth it (you can grow a fullsize plant in a 2" netpot with only a rapid rooter). I'd only recommend soil if it's so hot you can't get your res. cool.

I understand your excitement fully, mine has worn off over the past few. it's still a good fun wholesome hobby but at times a pain in the ass.

if he follows ff feeding schedule he'll burn the fuck out of things right off the bat is why he's getting a ppm meter.

my buddy told me that with foxfarm i have to monitor my h20 res. for feeding. Dont fully understand it! but im all in man! i really think im leaning towards the hydro right now. i obvoiusly have to do alot more reading and research on it, but based off what you've said and what ive read, its less maint. long run and less shit to replace and dispose of too. im gonna keep a journal and draw blueprints for this also so that i can get input from everyone... to tweak stuff, replace, or whatever needs to be done to get this baby running smooth... thanks again tib

i love to be there bro! sounds great! i read alot of the aero from that stinkbud post but the thread went up to like 900 something pages. i have an attention span but not that good... haha production of 2-3lb every 3 weeks is exactly where i want to be bro! hopefully i will be within reason at least... thanks broskie

Hey farmit....take it easy...i know i know..ure excited and it seems like soooo much fun...it is if ure really into this shit..not just because u like to smoke weed...or watever other reason..do research read books watch videos ....then worry about capital investement this is from somebody whos blown about 10,000 us dollars trying to get shit off the ground and i still have yet to grow my first pound...its a great hobby if u have time resources etc.. btw go soil for now its more forgiving and u can have a better feel for ure plants and have a better idea of wat u doin....

That's kinda what I figured I'd be putting in! There is a pretty big gap in knowledge from reading to actually doing it! I realize that, but I def plan in doing it and it feels good completing setting like that. It's the chase of doing it better for me bro! And the biggest benefit is always having it without all the travel

If you decide to go DWC, you better make sure you can keep your res temps under control. Don't underestimate ventilation and problems keeping your room temps under control.

I'm on my fifth grow, first two were DWC and I got root rot both times. I just harvested my second coco grow in smart pots last week. For me, coco is much easier. No ppm or ph pen (if you have RO water). You can use hydro nutes or organic (I've done both and am going with organic now). You can recycle the coco. I wish someone had told me about coco before my first grow. I spent money on air pumps, water pump, res chiller, ph pen, ph pen tip, ppm meter. You can prove out the basics of your room with a soil or coco grow and then when you have success there, try your hand at hydro if you want.

That's a dumb reason to get a ppm meter.

A ppm meter is so you can check nutrient levels in a res. as they fluctuate - not so you can know the ppm of stuff you just mixed up. Personally, I'd stick with feeding schedules so long as your doing soil - keep track of everything in a book and you can use it to adapt your feeding schedule as you go. Even with hydro you don't *need* a ppm meter - keep track of what you fed and how it worked; it's going to be pretty much the same next time.

Soil is slower to respond than hydro - seems to matter a lot more in flowering than veg. In veg you can literally just feed the plants based on how green they are.

2 - 12' x 12' (actual grow area) bud rooms...4000 watts in each....average close to 5 lbs/month with rooms offset by 3 to 4 weeks..with a separate room for mothers, clones and vegging table to get them ready for the bud rooms. Strain is a 6 week strain.

I'd go hydro if I were you. It's more difficult to start up, but once you get it going there's a lot less hassle depending on the type of system you got.

anyone have a good grasp on the aero. i kinda dove into it last night for a while and seemed like a good system if you can construct it right, and regulate your on/off timing with the sprayers! if i went aero for seedlings/veg. am i fully committed to flower with aero? it seemed like it would be hard to seperate your kids as they start a root mass together? LMK what uz think?

what type or system are you using? how the selection for 6-7 week strains? i know alot of 8-9 week'ers, but nothing in the 6's. also have some clones from my buddy who did headband, he is running them for me- at his spot, but wants to move them to me within 2 weeks! so i kinda have to committ asap i think
