So you have to prove who you are to vote? The TRAVESTY!!!!!
And so the entire mechanism of voter surpresson is simplified to absurdity. This is exactly what the right wishes you to say and argue and believe.

It seems to have worked quite well.

Now, when some oldster, who has used the same ID since he voted for Carter is turned away at the polls, you folks will simply say "well, they should have known". and be not the slightest bit embarassed when their candidate wins because of subterfuge and questionable legal practices.

This is what Republicans do, they are incapable of shame.

If you are not aware that vote fraud happens in every election I am not going to spend one second digging up all the evidence you choose to ignore...

There is this thing called *google* and if you use it to look up voter fraud you might be surprised to find out that it indeed does exist.

Well, if you don't know, I am not going to tell you....

The fact is NLXSK1, there are very few cases of voter fraud in the history of this country. How about showing us that there are more.

If the number of legitimate voters that are kept from voting exceeds the number of illegitimate voters that are kept from committing voter fraud, then what you have is what the right wants, a corrupt election.

It is quite obvious that hundreds of thousands if not millions of legitimate voters will be kept from casting their vote this year, and that seems to be ok with you folks.
I don't believe any citizen incapable of obtaining a valid form of identification has the mental capacity to select an appropriate candidate for any elected office, regardless of their personal political beliefs.

You guys are fucking retarded.Give free ID's, that way the cheddar lovers on the left and Nazis on the right are both happy. ID for voting is common sense. I missed the continuous drivel on here, I really did

Of course, it is "common sense", and this is what the right contends, all the while pushing a far more nefarious agenda. The question is harrekin, do you support keeping hundreds of thousands of people who have voted legitimately, with no problems (other than dems winning of course) from voting?

Simple question.

So, by virtue of your incredulity, things must not really be as they are right?

The fact is that even if you don't believe it, even if other's situations are not akin to your own, about 9 percent of the voters in PA don't have what is now considered "valid ID" in order to vote.

How about answering some questions.

Do you support denying the vote of legitimate voters?

Now, beyond all of this, Only Republicans think it is a good idea to place yet another questionably elected president in office. Only they are willing to further divide their country yet again, first by having Bush be selected by fiat, then by loudly questiong the legitimacy of Obama and finally, should Romney win, ensure that serious questions exist over his election as well.

This is Republicanism, filthy, disgusting, unpatriotic, and reprehensible.

Republican and democrat are the same group, you are brain washed and believe the propaganda
Vote Ron Paul if you love the country, which is a republic, and believe in human rights and the constitution.

have you ever misplaced anything?

what if someone misplaces their ID a few days before the election, should they be disenfranchised?

what if someone is just extremely poor, and needs to spend the $13.50 on baby formula rather than an unnecessary and unconstitutional poll tax? should they be disenfranchised for being poor?

The ability of legitimate voters to cast a ballot has never been questioned.

Legitimacy is the issue, and how a state determines legitimacy.

Be it a photo I.D. confirming citizenship, passport, or, as Uncle Buck mentioned in a previous post, birth certificate, I wholeheartedly support the requirement to verify identity and citizenship prior to casting a ballot in national elections.

This issue goes beyond typical party politics, as EVERY citizen, regardless of political affiliation, loses when we allow non-citizens to choose our elected representatives.

Only land owning men who work in the private sector should be allowed to vote.

why don't you document this epidemic of non-citizens voting since it is the core premise of your argument, apparently.

and if the documents required to obtain the ID are sufficient for you, why require the extra step of making people pay money to the government in order to be able to vote? you do know that is against the 24th amendment, yes?

The ability of legitimate voters to cast there ballot is indeed in question.

Let us review - Pa only.

There was not a single cited case of voter fraud in the hearing and PA said they could not produce one
Estimates run as high as 9 percent of voters in that state will be rendered ineligable to vote and be so rendered with less than 3 months lead time
Voters in PA have used ID for many years, and yet this year the requrements have changed
Arrangements such as they are to alert voters to the change have been assigned to a Republican backed/owned PR group

I will repeat - your statement "everyone loses when we allow non-citizens to vote" is a nice sounding sentiment but it has never ever been shown that this condition exists and enacting these laws will quite certainly prevent lots of voters from casting their ballots. This issue is currently at the heart of "party politics".

I will admit that I often get OH and PA situations confused but that is because they are so similar.

But what you are claiming is that the state will accept any form of ID and this is incorrect. Many voters will not even know that their ID has been rendered ineffective until they show up at the polls.

And this you heartily endorse because of "protocol". Theory and practice is the difference here for 700K voters, predominantly Dems and you don't think there is something amiss?

Really?
