Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009

The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 (Pub.L. 111–2, S. 181) is a federal statute in the United States that was the first bill signed into law by President Barack Obama on January 29, 2009. The Act amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The new act states that the 180-day statute of limitations for filing an equal-pay lawsuit regarding pay discrimination resets with each new paycheck affected by that discriminatory action. The law directly addressed Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., 550 U.S. 618 (2007), a U.S. Supreme Court decision that the statute of limitations for presenting an equal-pay lawsuit begins on the date that the employer makes the initial discriminatory wage decision, not at the date of the most recent paycheck.

An earlier bill seeking to supersede the Ledbetter decision, also called the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, was first introduced in the 110th United States Congress but was not successfully enacted at that time, as it was passed by the House but failed in the Senate.

During the campaign for the 2008 elections, the Democrats criticized Republicans for defeating the 2007 version of the bill, citing Republican presidential candidate John McCain's opposition to the bill and candidate Barack Obama's support.[SUP][1]

I know what will fix it!! Build brand new cities miles away from the current ones. Then if one city deteriorates or has a disease or some horrible virus, there is a whole nother city to move into. Imagine the amount of money (debt) that will be generated. It will fix everything.

And of course it will all be risk free.
The Chinese are already building ghost cities to drive their economies.

Would of been cool if they had her go down on a Michelle Bachmann lookalike

Patience. Soon, you'll have enough coupons to buy blowup doll versions of both. The problem is, right now, they're legal to use, but illegal to sell, so back to the old rubber lover for you!

You keep saying Obamacare is a failure, what do you base this on?

I'm not saying it is a success. I think it is too early to assign it either status, thus far I can see it's limitations and potential pitfalls, but I can also see some good it's doing.

Forcefully redistributing labor does not create a "good" in the total sense. By looking only at the result, rather than the METHOD and the result you blur the real view.

For instance slaves picking cotton, created a "good" if you were the one that benefitted from their labor, yet if you were the one being forced you may have had a different perspective. Any program that relies on force as a cornerstone does not create "good" as the force cannot be overlooked or rationalized away.

When are you ever going to tell us about your accomplishments in life?

Accomplishments should be legal to grow, but illegal to sell...no wait.

So in other words. You will continue to fight a society that deems you a failure.

No. I will continue to advocate that prohibitionist type people leave others alone. You will advocate for policies that put people in jail for engaging in free trade. You are a prohibitionist. I am not.

You fail logic on a regular basis.

I'm not a prohibitionist. You distort my position. And still remain a failure in life

No. You advocate for a restriction on people engaging in free trade. You have said, "illegal to sell". That means people will be jailed for failing to follow your idiotic policy.

You advocate a policy that would jail people for not harming others. I have not distorted your position, I have shone a light on your hypocrisy and now you are scurrying like a cock roach. Using force to restrict freedom makes you a sick fuck and a failure to liberty principles.

Try to sell weed in Colorado.
And I still believe the fastest way to legalization is
Legal to grow and possess
Illegal to sell
