So i dont have enough space in my closet to do 2 separate rooms(veg and flower rooms) so i was planning on just growing my plants then throwing all of them under some CFLs for flowering and waiting 2 weeks to check for the males and then just destroy the males and keep the females...... is there a chance that by me doing this that the females will be pollinated

Small chance. Just sit them in perfect darkness for 24-36 hours right before you initiate 12/12. Might help sex them abit faster, just pay very close attention to them and you should be ok.

If possible, plant the males somewhere hidden outside, can still use the leaves for stuff. Plus mixing some freshly dried leaves can freshen up old bud. Makes the smoke smoother.

thanks man..... and i dont think im going to be able to hold on to the males (live in close neighborhood) is there anything i can do with them and not planting them, like a quick use before i destroy them?

In that case just cut off all the leaves and discard rest. Keep male leaves away from females just incase they may have pollen on them.

Lay them out between 2 sheets of paper so they can air dry for like a day. Get a razor blade and dice them up to about what shake looks like and let them air dry for another day or so, then throw in baggie or jar and stick in a cool dark place. Nice to use as a buffer if you dont have much weed and want to make the most of it. (My brothers have actually got stoned off of smoking decent amounts of leaf only)

haha sounds like a good idea...... well you seem way good when it comes to this.... i dont kno too much about it yet and i was wondering if you could help? i want to have maybe 3-5 small plants about 1.5-2ft and i was wondering if 2 2ft 20w cool white flouresent bulbs would be enough to get me those plants? or should i get 2 more and have 4?

No, just everyone I know smokes or grows lol. Depends on the type of grow though, 40 watts isnt enough for a real grow.

But you could do that IF its 2 single bulbs that you could set above top left and top right of plants, for 4 plants.

I use 8 4 foot 40 watt (4 on top, and 2 on each side longways), so 320 watts for 18 plants that are about 24-30 inches, + 5 seedlings. Topping them constantly so they bush out. I am about to add another 320 watts also.

If possible throw in like 4 26 watt CFLs, the little corkscrew lights that go in regular sockets. Have the tubes above plants, and CFLs on the sides.

My lil area, a week old though. (As in pic taken last week, at 7 weeks old. root bound so growing slow now, gonna transplant soon.)

So i think what im going to do is get 2 more 20w 2 footers and have 4 above the plants then throw 2 40w CFLs on the side....think that will be good?

Yeah sounds good, though I'd say 4-5 CFLs to be good. Put the CFLs like this

L ----L ----L
-[ C ] -[ D ]
------L

L = CFLs, ABCD = 4 plants. Will make sure theres strong undergrowth.

If ya cant do 5 CFLs, do 2, one in center of all plants, and move the other one around in every 1/4 light on cycles, so evens out the light for all plants.

i have 8 cfl's totaling 710 ish watts (actuall watts not comparative), half veg (65k) half flower (30K) which comparitive i think is around 2300watts incandescent. and i know incandescent isn't the same as hps or mh but still that's a lot. all totalling 36,600 lumens (half red focus half blue focus). i run all for a 4ft x 4ft ish area to grow 5 plants in dwc using a 10 and 6 gallon resevior. and i use mylar everywhere!

six of them are long (almost 1 foot) 105 watts each, two small ones more are 42 each. and then i will have two more small ones of 42w each in a grow box just for the mother, who will also be on dwc and the inside of the box is covered in mylar.

now i haven't actually done it yet, i am setting up the grow room right now but that is my setup.

Lumens dont exactally add, so your light is whatever the max bulb is pretty much. 8 CFLs at 705 watts, are some of them envirolites? You mean 3000k and 6500k? BTW, your a little shy on lumens, you want a minimum of 3k lumens per sq foot, your just under 2300. It might work at first considering your only using 5 plants, but once they bush out... =\

well i know that the six 105s are 8000 lumens each says it on the box

but yeah i am new to this whole thing, thanks for explaining that lumens don't add up.

Ooo, very nice. Still need to up your grow area about 11k more lumens to make sure everythings nice and bushy.

can i get more lumens if i add more fluro's? will those provide addable lumens to my setup cuz i have a 4 foot blast that holds 2 fluro's and the bulbs i have for it each are i think 3000 lumens?

I dont know what yours add up to, you need to check the lights for lumen ratings. Would be less than 3k per sq foot I think though unless you use atleast 3 CFLs with those 4 bulbs on top.
