Wild hemp will do that. Sometimes. That is what it COULD be.



The federal government in the 70's and 80's, because of their stupid war on pot, went around burning massive wild stands of completely THC-free hemp varieties all over states like Missouri and Kansas. They used to grow along side railroad tracks and major highways.

looks like clumping/ornamental bamboo to me, its used extensively in landscaping in some areas. still worth taking some clones from for the garden if it is though. i waked by a Japanese red maple on my way out of KFC the other day and took some snippets that are not holding down spots in my clone machine.
 
Green Japanese Maples or Eupatorium cannabinum, would be my guess. Sure would be nice to see a close up of the leaf and the stem leading off from the leaf it self.....?.......
These have different families of this strain and can easily be mistaken for pot plants. It could also be a weaker side of the bamboo family that people like using in gardens.
