Yeah thanksgiving was just free wine and a few days out of school for me

White wine before dinner and red wine after

I was really high on thanksgiving last year

and everyone else was getting plates and me and my brother were sitting there and he looked at me all awkward like

So I fingered the turkey cuz I hate awkward silence lmao

But all he did was stare at me more awkwardly

And I remember thinking Jesus Christ wtf is his problem I just sexually violated poultry for him the least he could have done was grin

to me its more of a family gathering...was nice as a kid but as you get older its just a average day with food...and lots of confusion..lol....and I dont do a turkey since its just a few people i do Prime rib and lobsters...dont care for turkey..dirty birds..lol...most people eat and then head out to do Christmas shopping..lol..big sales...

I want to live in America of US and A and eat the turkey and cranberry with my nice American family like I see in the movies . We have Australia day we just get drunk on beer and beat each other is that the same idk
All I know is that my family is from el salvador. And we have always cooked birds on that day. My grandma had lots of foul on her land....they actually call it "Dia de Chompipe(sp)" It's some flightless bird.

Either way I like it because I get 4 day weekends. And the whole family gets together and gets sloppy drunk , full and basically beat each other . La familia

But funny my ancestors are both Indian and some sort of European immigrants that settled in El Salvador.

So Anytime I get time off work and a big feast of all kinds of food, tamales, pasteles , atole etc.. Is ok in my book. I ain't changing now

Its cool hearing about how holidays are celebrated in different countries. Especially the ones that are usually thought of as only being american holidays. I was in denmark for the fourth of july one year and it kind of surprised me that they were shooting off fire works. I guess its kind of like how we drink margaritas on cinco de mayo or drink car bombs on st patricks day or drink beer for oktoberfest.

panes-con-pavo.jpg This is the traditional turkey sandwich. Salvadoreans don't wait for left overs.

Usually there's like 3 -4 birds...depending on size of party. So either you make a pan con pavo or whatever you want.

I'll be in New York this year tho spending it with some Italian Mafia inlaws.... so it will be different culture for me....
