SEX under 24/0 light?

Dear all members,

This is my first grow from unknown strain and unknown type (photo period or auto).
from my observation the plants are a hybrid indica dominant.

I have started these plants from seeds since more 7 weeks ago.
i put my plants under 24/0 light.

Yesterday only one of them has shown male pollen sacks.

i am quite sure this is not an auto strain for many reasons:
1) the seeds came from an area which auto's are unknown (not used).
2) these plants age is over 7 weeks !
3) only one out of many shown a sex organ

Can any body help me figure out if there i might did to make this unusual & strange thing happened?

Any input is appreciated.

I guess it can be common with cannabis. Its just finally showing its mature enough to sex.

I had 4 random bag seeds all preflower and show sex on me in 24/0 as well, but they where only about 4 weeks in.

So you think its common and nothing wrong i did like stressing it out?

nope, from what ive read, its just the plant is mature enough now and ready to start flowering. Go ahead and flip to 12/12 and have fun! Theyll start stretching a inch or 2 a day. Mine grew another 10-15" each during the 2 weeks of stretch.

the only problem here is that i want to have mothers to keep.
while if it start to flower how can i make mothers?

Usually MJ will show sex by 7 weeks no matter the light period, bt if you want to encourage them to show sex without flowering you could start giving them some dark period such as 20/4 or 18/6 and see what happens. That might be just enough to kickstart sex expression. also, are the nodes opposite, or have they started to alternate yet? And do you have any photos of the non-sexed plants? If so, maybe post some and we can take a look to see if they are just hiding their sex a bit. Happy growing.

I understand from your reply that showing sex does not mean that the plant has start flowering is that what you are saying?
regarding nodes as i know from my readings each node have two set of leafs opposite to each other and the second node is opposite to the previous node (this my case)!

I will post some photos soon

Thanks for your input Hazmat

you can take cuttings from one of your female plants and make clones from it so you will always have a female cut of that plant.

I have already taking clones but i still have problem understanding deference between sexing and flowering !

as i learned from reading the plant should only show sex organs under 12/12 light (flowering) is that true or i am getting it wrong?

they will show sex when they are old enough. showing sex does not mean they are in flower. it just means they are sexually mature. it will not start to grow buds until you change the light cycle to 12/12

Well, personally i have not had this happen, yet I'm only on my 3rd grow at this time, but what i understand is that some plants will show sex even under 24hr light once the plant is mature enough in the veg cycle. It is just showing you that it is ready to be put into flower. You might as well do the flip and let those girls start producing buds!

Also, when it is in 12/12 light, if its a female it will pop out little white hairs through the pistols and if it is a male, it will start to make little sacks that look like bananas, pull the male plants as soon as you can identify them! it can ruin your whole grow. hope this helps with the sexing problem.

it will only have bannas if it is a herm. if its male it will have little green sacs on the nodes

Indeed, plants do not need to start flowering to show sex, they will show sex when mature. As for nodes, when the plant is an immature seedling the nodes are opposite as you described in your previous post and won't show sex. Once the plant reaches maturity, the leaves will start to alternate, one leaf on one side of the stem, then a little growth and another leaf on the other side of the stem. When that starts to happen, you should expect sex expression soon after.

yes i know, i am just pointing out that they both look similar. they both are a sack that is in a shap of a banana. yes the herm is more like a banana buy you can't deny that a full blown male looks like it has little sacks that look like them.
