That's true my friend, but giving birth to a new strain it's amazing, some friend of mine is sending me some beans he's got called Cali pearl OG, he's been crossing strains and came up with this, I can't wait to get my hands on them and test them to see if I get a keeper! :bigjoint::hump:

yeppers, I've made over 50 of em and seein em growin around the world is even more amazing
 
Well I hope one day I can do that too ! But as of right now I'm just breeding then comes testing and last but not least would be sharing them among other breeders !! & also I'd like to know more about those 50!

The opposite of less is more.
The more time and work the less the profit margin is !
Ultimately they didn't give a shite .

Oaxaca for sure. Everyone has it right about this topic. Mexico and South America has some nice beans. I Use them all the time . But I am picky .
 
I got a tour of a Mexican reefer plantation back in the '70's. They treated their product the way a warehouse worker treats 100 pound bags of sand. Their plants were so seedy they had a coal shovel just to push fallen beans into the drain. No concept of treating the product carefully so as not to bruise the reefer. They had a big industrial trash compactor and after the branches were stripped the bud was compressed into 35 ounce (2.2 pounds) bricks. Each brick was just around 14 x 6 x 4 inches. To have a brick-busting party we would cover the dinner table with newspapers, unwrap the brick and start breaking it into smaller chunks. By the time the brick was broken up there would be a pile 2 feet high that covered most of the table.

Big Steve , Right on brother I am celebrating many years also! But a Lady never tells her age... Those were the days ..the old trash compactor and it wasn't that easy to get refillable trash bags at night... No big stores to go too... Kids have it easy these days.
 
I had a '66 Ford with a hollowed -out backseat I used for all sorts of shady labor. I smuggled fireworks from Ohio to Michigan. Ran Stroh's beer to Kansas City and returned with 66 cases of Coors. I wasn't stupid enough to try moving any kind of product by the feds but I did drive the Ford to see the Mexican operation. My host saw the professional grade hidey hole and tried to pay me to sneak one of his girlfriends back to San Diego. Had to pass on that one. Only time I got busted was in a notorious speed trap in Middlesburg, Ohio. Had a load of fireworks and a baggie for personal use. He didn't find the fireworks stash but snatched my baggie, unrolled it, sniffed it, smiled and pocketed my buzz. Oh how I hate Ohio state.

Wow now I'm reminiscing, use to sell lids late 60's throughout 70's and yes had fun breaking up those pounds and keys. Had a connection in Venice ca. that I got decent kilos, hash and other things from. Man I miss the concerts back then, even got to see jimi Hendrix and his band of gypsys cry of love tour at the forum in L.A. There's just nothing like it today.
 
Hmm,,,,,,Mexican weed is for the most part regional. Call it 2 region's.
Northern and southern.
The northern is where most of the "rat" weed comes from and is grown. (cheaper and less dangerous to ship shorter distances)..
The genetics of this northern bud has been, for the most part,,,"watered down" to say the least. The area does not produce the high end Sativa's of old, and in reality, never did! (Northern Sativa's were always low quality).
THAT came mostly from southern Mexico with it's better soil and growing conditions! Punta Roja, Acapulco gold (grown in the deep south and renamed for the local tourista trade), Oaxaca and Michoacan. The high quality Mexican Sativa's were all grown there in the deep southern Mexican States.
There is still high quality Mexican weeds grown down there.
They just don't get shipped here due to our ability to produce our own high quality weeds. You can find them in most southern tourist area's still (If you dare go there). Most of these "high" quality weeds are shipped to various tourist destinations around Mexico and other Island countries about the south.

I miss the Punta Roja! Man that red Mex Sativa and the sour taste was one of my fav's. It took me over 5 years of hinting to begging to get some landrace Punta from a well known friend. He has one of the best landrace collections in the world.

I mean I could pretty much throw some random seed out my backdoor and the chances of the smoke being better are pretty damn high

Mexican is some of the best weed you can grow and smoke. In south Texas we get some really good Mex, I've been saving the best of the best via a friend (RIP) who trafficked in high quality Mex sativa for decades. It's easy to grow and the high can be incredible.

We bought "lids" (an oz.) for $8-10 in the 60's. Some of this Mex weed was so strong we called it "acid weed". Saw Hendrix in Houston in 68, lead in band was Chicago. Probably the most awesome bands though, more entertaining than Hendrix, were Led Zeppelin and Cream. They were an experience!

Those were the dayz.......
 
Saw Jimmy in Baton Rouge, Opener was Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes! Got pics! I remember 8.00 zs, and matchboxes, 5.00 ea. used to go to a country store and give the password and he would bag it like I bought something in a paper bag. Did u ever get Thai sticks, my buddies brought some from Nam, also brought packaged Marlboro reds, that had a factory rolled cigs with a short filter and a gold weed leaf on them, real good smoke, Thai I think. 20.00 dollars a carton!!
