Ok so they want a happy little nirvana of a review site.
 
So if people are given lift points for leaving positive detailed reviews and from what Johny said, 500pts = $5. How that $ is paid out to reviewers is what I'm interested in. Is it a cheque? or credits to an LP? Either way, if there's a cash incentive, somewhere down the line it encourages positive reviews, whether real or not. Especially if negative reviews get swept away. Sounds like a self serving system, once you add in the LP affiliation. Happy reviews =$$$$, therefore an abundance of positive reviews, warranted or not.

Want a good example? How many people have attended a sporting event and signed up for a free credit card you always see people shilling, which you know you're going to cancel as soon as you get , just to get some free merch on the spot for signing up. Never wanted the credit card, just the reward.

Still only applies if the person works for the LP or is paid by the LP.
If Lift offers independent Lift points, it's not considered advertising by the LP because the LP isn't part of it.
As soon as the LP is involved, it's definitely astroturfing and illegal under the laws of false advertising - has nothing to do with the MMPR advertising restrictions.

I was under the understanding that lift is owned by an LP or the same people that own an LP. So at the end of the day I would say they are being paid indirectly for there posts. IMO

I'm pretty sure this isn't true. I think the partnership has nothing to do with the founding or ownership of Lift.

isn't a partnership the same? they both have an interest. i thought if you "partnered" with another company, you invested something be it time or cash. i could be wrong but that's my understanding...it may be wrong too
 
My impression of the situation is that Lift simply approached them about the concept of Lift points - nothing else really takes place between the two entities.

Ya....are they like the prizes you get in Cracker Jack ? Who cares ?? lift shmift...never been there ...don't care...I don't look at any LP shit or sites.....makes ya weak....By the way...this really is the photo on my current drivers license I have.

I just got thinking. What other controlled narcotic can you get points for reviews to go toward more controlled narcotics. I can't go and give a review of morphine for instance and get something in return. Hmmmmm doesn't this sound fishy? Imo

what other controlled narcotic has dozens of different strains available with different effects and is a natural plant? cannabis is not and never should be classified as a narcotic, thats just how they are regulating it but its a herbal medicine

I totally agree. But the fact is it is classified as such and you can't advertise for tobacco why can they give points out for an illegal substance???? I'm being sarcastic it's just hard to show on here. Any way my point is the government says it's worse than tobaco and alcohol which is complete lies by the way. But turns a blind eye to people receiving points which promotes this narcotic (according to the gov)and illegal to promote the use of an illegal substance. Hints laws being broken. Promoting is advertising!!!
