We will have to wait and see how the court case pans out, but theres a pretty good chance the MMAR injunction will end with the right to grow your own medication being re-instated. (yay!)
For the people that cant grow them selves there are the Grey-market Dispensaries, White market LPs and Black Market dealers all of which are still (quite) accessible.
In terms of the cost, yes it is prohibitive for a lot of low income patients. Broken Coast is rolling out compassionate pricing in the near future to ensure that those with a legit need for herb aren't being erroneously precluded. But in terms of quality control, I'd wager a joint that you've never had your home grown weed tested for heavy metals, mold spores or microbial counts (which are required before LP product is shipped to a patient)
This testing is not so important for the recreational user, but for individuals with compromised immune systems its crucial. HIV patients in particular are quite susceptible to opportunistic infections that would otherwise be benign bacteria in a healthy individual.

testing is important for everyone, they are indeed paying high price for commercially grown shwag.
Using the guise as medical only makes me laugh.... so please... spare me the trivia...

fair enough, i suppose it is a relative measure haha.
Broken Coast has a couple hundred plants in each grow room.
It's my understanding that the "big batches" a'la tilray/tweed have a couple THOUSAND plants per grow room (mind you I don't work there so I could be wrong, anyone from tweed or tilray wanna chime in on this?)
anyways...
It's easier to identify specific issues with specific plants when you're dealing with fewer of them to begin with. In short, smaller batches allows us better quality control in the growth stage so we don't have to irradiate/mill our bud in the curing stage.

LP's can only provide bud to those with a medical need unfortunately.
My personal belief is that this will change to include recreational users in due time.

Iv only grown in soil, and I have had problems with pests. Luckily Broken Coast isnt trusting me with the plants yet haha

The certified "no irradiation" guarantee from our CEO is a pretty good idea. Seems like a lot of people are hung up on that particular aspect.

Just asked our head grower about the nutrients and the pythium concern...
Our nutrient feeds don't qualify as organic, but apparently getting the organic certification is no easy feat either.

And it seems that pythium is essentially a non-issue in our grow rooms because the environment is kept sterile throughout the plants life cycle.

$6.25 a gram for our Purple Kush. (plus a good chance of swinging a discount if you can talk to "John" about compassionate pricing)
but yeah thats still no price comparison if you are fortunate enough to be growing for your self at $2-$3 a gram
