What should I do to this fan leaf?

should I take it off? would it divert energy else where other than trying to keep this one living? I have some new growth like this too.. not as bad though. I think water droplets were left on the new leaf growth and the sun burnt a whole through them.. what do you think?

yup to what? lol it will divert energy if I snip that older fan leaf off? any negative effects?

and to the one I'm assuming was from the water droplet cut that new one off too?

You've got at least two separate issues going on there, and neither are due to water droplets "burning" your leaves. It doesn't happen. In the two pics, there is nothing in common that would point to one cause. Top looks like possibly sucking insects and maybe some kind of mineral or fert contamination, and the bottom looks like chewing insects. Have you looked at the bottom of the leaves with some sort of magnifier? Look very carefully for bugs and eggs.

Removing one leaf will make no difference to the health of a plant generally, but if that top one is holding critters go ahead and get rid of it.

I've been using diatomaceous earth. people swore by it. and it seems to have done nothing for me. I've done the ring around the stalk directly on the soil and even tried to dust the leaves with it. completely dusted. you can see in some of the pics the white powder on the leaves. and also I've even tried spinosad. in a sprayer sprayed on the foliage. and really soaked the under parts for larvae eggs critters anything and everything. nothing is seeming to work. help me out. lol

when you treat take a look at the under side of the leaf with your scope...the mits should not be moving after 10 seconds it is dead...but the egg will come alive in 2 maybe 3 days...kill em again and again 2-3 days apart

I've been applying my spinosad every 3 days. also if you've used it what part to what part mixture? maybe my mix is too light?

No, not at all. Before I knew what it was I had thought maybe something got too concentrated on the surface and caused problems. You can burn the foliage with plenty of over-the-counter stuff.

Look up thrips, it is what happened to my plant and they are hard to spot but this looks like that to me.

I'm just assuming I'm not saying that's the determined reason. I've read that it was possible. so I'm just stating what I thought it COULD be. so many different things on the web.

could it possibly help with the infestation, cause if it could I'm going to remove them first think tomorrow.

Yeah listen to TWS, he knows what he's talking about.
And I can't say it would help with the infestation. I will say I have heard neem oil helps, as do nematodes if you were to introduce them to your soil. Look into it first though, I'm no expert.

when you say remove leaves? are you saying like remove growth shoots as well or just the lower, older 3 and 5 finger fan leaves? also does this effect the plant in any negative way? I've read a lot of debates about defolation being bad and good, good for indoor bad for outdoor.
