Gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results:

  • Australia-wide, homicides went up 3.2 percent
  • Australia-wide, assaults went up 8.6 percent
  • Australia-wide, armed robberies went up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns.

Don't show those stats. It's only important that GUN crimes went down. Not that CRIME in general goes up. Because it's really the guns fault. It's not the person holding the gun. Because if you take that gun away that person will now instantly become a good person. The damned gun was corrupting them. Jeez man get it right. If we get rid of guns we can all sleep better at night knowing the streets are now safer. Besides, why should we have the RIGHT to keep and bear arms. The constitution doesn't matter.

That's because guns were different back then and that's not what the founders meant. It's like our 1st amendment. It was made before social media and the internet. We need to revisit that pesky free speech too. We've already eroded that silly right to privacy, now we need to tackle how we defend ourselves, how we communicate and if possible how we think.
 
The only upside I see to gun control is that maybe some of these anti 2nd amendment folk will become part of the statistics of the "safer" environment they seem to want so badly. I wont lose a bit of sleep.

Isn't it ironic that so many of the anti gun politicians actually have carry permits, or are protected by people that carry firearms? Hypocrites.

The only people that would turn in or surrender their firearms are fools and the rest will keep or hide them. And they will comprise the majority. There are enough Americans that still believe in liberty and what the 2nd amendment is truly about. And the more the government works towards infringing on American's liberties, the more steadfast they will become.

It is boggling to me the fact that some people are so blind to reality that they honestly think that taking guns away reduces CRIME. Every stat I have seen points to the contrary. Once again, people only talk about the fact that gun crime goes down. Anyone can make statistics look good if they target them in a certain way. Just look at "documentaries". So many have an agenda and if you only look and listen to that agenda, then that is your reality and truth. Open your eyes and dig deeper and a new reality and truth are revealed. Too many blind sheep being led by the shepherd and not enough free thinkers. But it's good to be a sheep. You are no threat. The free thinkers are the threat, because their only allegiance is to truth, reality, liberty, and freedom. So sheep, enjoy your mental slavery, and your reality TV. Let the real world pass you by.

Having said that, the good doctor is neck and neck with Trump and a recent FOX poll shows him beating Hillary by a wide margin.

In addition, the poll tested an array of general election match-ups and Carson is the only Republican to get 50 percent support. In a Carson vs. Hillary Clinton contest, he has the advantage by a 50-39 percent margin.

Did you know many gun control measures originated to keep blacks from owning guns ? Seems a little racist to me.
