I'm thinking about getting a 2nd dog. I don't really want another 'dangerous dog' in the house as it's a lot of responsibility regarding insurance, licence etc.

However there are many breeds that aren't on the list (and probably should be) such as German Shepherd (my first dog), cane corso.

Have thought about a little (bitch) English staff to keep my pitbull company. Maybe a GSD? I'd like to rescue one really.

I don't really need another dog but when I ask myself if I can afford it, walk it and spend time with them, then yes.

If my daughter ever takes back her black lab, I'm getting another ridgeback. My boy Louie/LouDog passed away a few years ago. When he did, I swore I was gonna get another male and name him Louie again:-D
A very underrated breed IMO. Such killer dogs. I mean, they all are good dogs, but lion hunters? How many different breeds can you say are lion hunters? C'mon

I was mauled in the face by a german shepard when I was younger. Them and pinschers, scare the shit outta me.

I once knew a ridgeback. They are nice and don't look dangerous. I don't know if they are on the list?

I'm sorry that happened to you and glad you got over it to keep your own dogs. GSD are a great breed IF owned by the right person. I was 11 when I found mine and was only allowed to keep him if I went to dog school, which I did.

I know some terrible GSD here and only a few weeks ago I hit my friends on the head and kicked it because it was displaying aggression. I was giving MY dog a drink and she bounded over aggressively. It backed off and reared its ass into its owner, just for her to reassure it!!!

I attacked another GSD last year when it was going for my dog. Love my metal chain dog lead. The owner was just walking on by so I thought 'fuck this, game on!' Then she started telling me to stop and i had a huge argument with her in Spanish. Nobody has seen them since.

The thing is, my dog is 2.5 now and is mentally an adult. He's recently been retaliating but only fights with other Pitbulls. There's 2 I have to watch for. This is better than attacking small defenceless dogs and not other equal sized ones. Unlike my friend s GSD who had ripped up 3 dachund.

Damn I just read a article saying rotties were the second most dangerous breed next to pits, which is weird cause I've owned a couple and theyr such lovey dubby dogs and pretty personable...although I do think if it came down to it a trained rot will destroy a trained pit 9 out of 10 times

I just recently finished spreading about 30 yards of decomposed granite in part of my back yard, because of the mud from the dogs. This winter should be allot cleaner around here:hump:

I should have just said dirt though. Up here in butte county it's super fine reddish/brown volcanic powder I sware!
Winter time, the dogs bring it in as mud, which it then turns to dust.
All other seasons, the dogs roll around in it, and bring in the dust. Horrible:-(

Me Three.
A medium sized mixed breed almost bit my left eye out when I was 7.
Several stitches later & still have the scar on my eyebrow. I'm wondering if I may have started the trend of "eyebrow cuts" ;-)
It didn't cause any type of fear though. As a matter of fact it only seemed to make me want to get closer/understand them more. I now know first hand that It's never a good thing when they are looking at you from the corner of their eye.
Coincidentally , I soon afterwards acquired a thing for milk bone biscuits & seemed to have a really keen sense of smell.:lol:
