I'm surprised not to see any comments about how there is a widening wealth disparity which probably means more individuals living with general contempt for their situation. Whether they have caused their own poverty with poor choices or not, an increase in the number of people with less/nothing to lose could be leading to the shootings increases. A few psychopaths without moral self-regulation, taking out their frustrations on innocent people in these elaborate, selfish calls for help. I think this reasoning works globally as well.

We have more gun laws now than ever before. Less types of guns are legally available to the average citizen than ever before. We also have more “gun-free zones,” zones where, just by the way, most of these shootings happen (because mass shooters do not follow laws or care about zones, obviously). So that’s not it.
Not to mention that five out of the 12 deadliest mass shootings in American history have happened not just since Barack Obama became president, but just under his first term as president alone. That’s nearly half.
Something else is going on here.

You may be right, but I still want to resist believing that anyone can be born with such a task in mind. Even if I'm being optimistic to a fault, I want my future thoughts and actions toward the general population of gun owners, conservatives, Muslims, etc to be such that I'm not a part of a world order that propagates mislead hatred.

I live in NC and have close friends on all sides of the aisle and I have never heard an utterance while hanging out as a group or individually that suggested any of the Conservatives give a shit what color he is. I'm not dismissing the probability that there are racists out there, but their numbers are infinitesimal comparative to the claims of liberals.
