1st grow - Aurora Indica 400hps/mh dwc

Sup y'all? First post, first grow. Starting with 2 feminized Aurora Indica seeds from Nirvana. I was very happy with their delivery. 10 days (if I remember correctly) from to the east coast USA.

Got a 2x3x5 tent, 6" inline duct fan for exhaust with 4" carbon filter attached. No intake fan, just the flap at the bottom of the tent. 400w mh in veg and 400w hps for flowering. 2 small fans to cool the reflector hood and bulbs.

Doing a dwc with one air stone and one air pump per reservoir. Reservoirs are 3 gallon buckets. RX A&B grow and bloom for nutrients.

I planted one seed in each pot using rapid rooters. First seed sprouted in a day and was on its way. Second seed never spouted and I ditched it after one week. Hence, the difference in size between the plants. I did some lst on the larger plant using picture hanging anchors that you might get from the hardware store and twine. No lst at all on the smaller plant, though I did cut 2 fan leaves a couple days ago. I have also been trimming leaves from the first plant. I'll try to get some pics of the roots up here soon.

I'm right at 4 weeks with the first plant and 3 with the second. Started flowering schedule on both 1 week ago. I'm quite impatient you can probably tell from the quick transition to flowering. I'm interested in harvesting for the buds (obviously) and I really want to try out a SOG with 4 white widows that I have or mainlining 2 of the WWs and see how that turns out.

I'l try to check in periodically with updates and whatnot. Thanks for viewing.

I know all about being impatient. Especially when you have phat colas that you cant wait to smoke haha. Keep it up

More cutting. Two weeks into flower and I think this will be the last round of removing leaves. It's funny (to me), seeing so much of what appears to be resin forming all over the stems. I never really thought about it before, as a non-growing user. Leaves have some sugar as well, but the stalks are covered.

Did some wild trimming. Plants take a lickin' and keep rockin'. This is about day 23 or so into flower.

Yup, just keeps on tickin'. I think that I'm now officially done with trimming unless I get some really large, shady leaves. Those will go. Otherwise, it's just monitoring from here on out. 4 weeks into flower. Both are about 19"-20". Seems that they may top off around this height, as I haven't seen much stretch in a couple of days now.

Thanks for reading.

Your set up for the carbon filter scares me....didn't it come with a couple velcro straps?

Following :D I do like your DWC set up. Very clean and nice. Hydro seems like it's the way to go but I'm so lazy I would forget or not want to deal with the reservoirs lol

No worries on the carbon filter except that the sumbitch isn't doing its job. I gotta figure out why odors are pouring out of the tent. Yeah, dwc is super easy thus far. No complaints!

Based on the way that my younger is growing, I'm thinking that she's white widow. Long story as to why I couldn't tell what she was until now. But, that's what I'm with for the moment. She's either AI or WW and she isn't growing the way that my older AI has grown, so I'm going with WW.

To answer your actual question, it didn't come with straps or anything. I had to finally get a high velocity fan and I used straps and bungees that I already had laying around. The high velocity fan has made all the difference with the odors.

Nice job man! I run similiar setup, 5 gal dwc. I only run 1 plant under 250w tho, i also have a scrog net. Check out my grow in my sig if you want to scrog next time, here's a link to the net I built that you attach to your lid: https://www.rollitup.org/t/diy-dwc-5-gallon-scrog.510210/
Thanks Anon! I have been thinking about doing a scrog for my next round. It seems like something cool to try. Also seems like a lot of work. Your setup with the dwc and scrog is interesting though and seems like something that can work for me. We'll see!
