Red, Pink and Purple stems ,streaks blotches oh my!

So I chose to put this here hoping more people catch it , but it really could go into any category. We have a lot of up and coming farmers and lots of old timers that are seeing more and more of this and I can only guess that its from so much crossbreeding. Lot's of strains have red stems, purple stems purple blotches ,pink streaks ect. This "red" trait is very predominant and I've noticed that it passes very easy. This is a very pretty feature cannabis has to offer and most of us will be lucky to experience it. It is not a health condition or deficiency but ultimately just a color feature that was part of that plants genetic package. There is reddening and purpling in a plant that has a deficiency but there is also chlorosis and necrosis that turns crispy in patches and red or purple from the petioles all the way down and through the leaf vein's. Besides that it does not look bad ass like true genetic reddening. I don't post many pics but for the beauty of it sorry about the double post it won't let me delete either.IMG_20160521_121250930.jpg IMG_20160521_121250930.jpg IMG_20151030_170939463.jpg IMG_20160511_090957355.jpg

I would disagree but this is my own personal opinion so believe what you want.

Purple stems is not genetic, micronutrients is my main thought about it at the moment but really for me that is the 6 million dollar question that hasnt got an easy answer. Calmag does help as does the right wet dry watering schedule and tightening up your environment but none seem to erradicate it 100%. I note i had less problems when i used a liquid seaweed but i have to experiment here more till i can conclude yay or nay on that one.

I suffer very little purpling and my main goal is a completley green plant from seedling to harvest. You might note that most see purple stems on seedlings and in time it dissapears which is a transient feature that negates the genetic pre disposition argument.

I base improvements on the less purple i get and use seedlings as a guide as to how perfect each nute, additive and soil mix is with the sole purpose of achieving a bright green stem.

It isn't bad. I have one or two with purple/red up the stems. I'm running a super soil with compost and castings with everything a plant could need. I use rain water.

It can't be from lack of something. Can't be abundance, I cooked the soil for a long time so the plants only take what they need.

It can be bad but the plant would look sickly.

If it looks like neon its bad.

If it looks like candied hotrod colors, its good.

If you run a crappy soil with little in id assume youd have more purpling.

IMG_20160123_160309008.jpg My 14 other plants are solid green from top to bottom. Guess someone forgot to tell this lady that she's the minority ! At least she's wearing it proud lol. This plant is in the room next door along with quite a few others just like her. "All green" top to bottom.

Trust me. Its not crappy.

You have said it was your opinion.

It is a known fact that cannabis turns about every color of the rainbow. Tell you what. Do a Google image search for exotic cannabis strains.

Shitty attitude. So you really have nothing to offer but unfounded opinion and then want to make snide remarks when someone rebutts.

Look at every deficiency chart out there for cannabis. The purple and red you see on there is very specific and doesn't represent the true color expression in cannabis.

Its in cannabis genes to change color.

Nice plant BTW very healthy looking lady!

Thank you. Yours are beautiful.
It is something to worry about though.

Years of it being illegal and eradication programs are causing problems. There have been a loss of strains from it.

We now have every one and their brother chucking pollen with no regard for the lineage and saving past specimens.

We are liable to have all watered down crap before its over with.

Yes, I agree. Thank you my friend. The future of breeding does horrify me. All the old favorites have been relentlessly fucked with.

Im sorry and apologise, what i meant is if you run your good soil and then got some crap as a side by side test to see if one gave you more purpling.

Again i do appologise i meant no ill will.

Lol. No harm nor foul.

. No doubt there are red and purples that are bad. Some are good.

Pot shows a lot of colors. Most of them good.

People around the world save seeds to grow year after year. People around the world have been ruined from new hybrid seeds. People in rural areas bought into hybrid seeds. After seeing how well they did they went to them and some ditched their saved seeds.

What they didn't k ow is those were 1st gen seeds. They will be uniform. If you try to grow them the next year they will be all over the place.

It can happen to pot. We have all these pollen chuckers that don't understand what they are doing.

There are organizations that save heirloom food seeds.

We need the same for cannabis.
