My grandma used to make a rice pudding like stuff, sounds like yours but she'd cook it down to thicken. Hers had cinnamon and almond extract and shaved some chocolate on it

You're right! I can make some fire ass chicken and I can throw down on some Mexican rice, but I still can't make arroz con pollo the same way my grandma does. She goes real hard in the kitchen.
