Hello guys thanks to accept me to join forum. i am old scholl outdoor grower, now i want to grow my firts indoor. i have buyed 4 of those COB chips BXRC-35E10K0-D-7X Bridgelux Vero29 Gen7/3500K/80Ra/38V . i dont know how to find proper driver for them 4. i want to use Meanwell. can someone help this newbie to take choice of driver, please.

How big is the area for light?
Those cobs draw 38.7V at 2100ma for the mfg spec of typical so an HLG-320H-42B would work at that wattage.

I have 4 2700K CXB3590 CB bin.
At 20 degree Celsius and 1400mA the forward voltage of this 4 COBs is 139.64 Volts. The HLG-185H-C1400B gives 143V/1400mA/200.2W maximum.
This looks like a perfect driver to me (97.65% of maximum load). Or are those 4 COBs at 1400mA too much for this driver.
I have 1 6500K CXB3590 CD bin.
At 20 degrees Celcius and 1700mA the forward voltage of this cob is 35.47 Volts. The HLG-60H-36B gives 36V/1700mA/61.2W maximum
98.52% of maximum load. Is this too much?
I heard something about 20% overhead.

I just called and talked to tech support at Meanwell USA
They aid hey recommend for longevity of the driver to leave approx 20%, but that its ok to use it all and wont void warranty nor will it reduce the life drastically.

I only have a ton of units of this exact combo. My chips are 3500K, otherwise the same. It kicks ass.
Hi. I'm also kinda new to using LED drivers, although I studied engineering (but that's a long time ago)... anyway, I have a small space (about 2'x2'5 or 60x80cm) and the budget is rather small. I don't need a monster light, so I was thinking about 2 or 3 CXB3590 36V 3500K CD cobs with a HLG-240H-C2100B driver.
If I'm not mistaken, this driver should allow me 3.3 (thus max 3) cobs in series @ 2.1A?
I see people regularly using 1.4A drivers. I suppose this lowered current will generate less heat in the cob? But also less light, am I right? Is this 3500K enough for both veggin and flowering?

Look up the term current droop. As you drive these chips more softly, they do indeed get dimmer- but at a slower rate. Thus they run substantially more efficiently at lower drive currents, reducing heat signature and wasted power consumption.

yes that driver will run the 3 cobs no problem.you see people using the 1400ma with cree for a few reasons.1 its a good balance between power and eff.plus the meanwell drivers line up well with them,like the hlg-240-1400 will run 5 cree @ 36v instead of just 3 cobs the way your looking to go.also at the lower power of 1400ma or 50w per cob there are alot of options for heatsinks to run without fans or passively which will save energy also.
Hello guys, I apologize that I didnt elaborated on the details before, but I will need to cover area of 4ft x 4ft I got 5 of the Gen7/3000K/80Ra/38V and 5000k too but I want to use them separate I want to drive them at 1400m which drivers would drive all of them at probably 50w each? or what is the best option to drive them 185h or 240h or 320h? how much of these cobs each driver can drive?

And I haven't drilled a mounting hole for a cob yet. Multi bars over the last 3 years...all with Kapton tape or 3M high-temp aluminum tape from Lowes.

Yeah I have more control now than I used to, and bud instead of Budweiser means less holes.
I dont like Budweiser as my beer choice, but it rhymed.
