Fluffy bud mean you are not using any type of co2. You need co2 and that will solve your fluffy bud problem.

Hard to tell with so little info.

Common causes would be not enough light, not enough nutrients, distance from plants to lights etc...

I have never used a CO2 system and I get nice big hard buds. Co2 is not required to grow nice buds. It might be that he is missing something though. Hard to tell with no information given at all. I would bet that he only has CFLs for lights. But I am just guessing.

This bud was grown with no CO2. But i did have a 1,000 watt HPS and good ventilation and Nutrients and such items though.

Opps missed the photo.

Unless you have your grow system completely dialed in and your room completely sealed CO2 is a waste of time and money. But if you have your room Dialed in and sealed and can afford C02 then by all means give them the GAS.

Exactly, CFL would be my guess as well... IMO the light fluffy buds are from lack of lumens.... If you're not using cfls try putting your grow light closer without cooking your babies.

get a ballast for that 100watt hps. check out High Tech Garden Supply

or jump on a bunch of 100watt equivalent cfls's. but imo, if heats not an issue the ballast would be the best bet. i'm doing cfls's and all is good so far, but there expensive too, once you get the right amount..

i dont really have an inlet fan, i just leave the door to the room open for a bit a couple times a day. so if i get that 400w hps with the ballast and everything for like 120 High Tech Garden Supply that would be a good investment cause it would be a big chunk of my money but if its gonna get me bigger buds then im all for it mang.

yeah, thats what i wanna do. right now i veggin. i was thinking of going all cfl but when i started do my shopping i started realizing.. man, to make it worth it i might as well go all the way.

if you wanna get fancy get the htg hid with the cool tube hood. it will add like $90 or so, but it will keep the light cool and you can exhaust the light fan out maybe your closet?

but then again, you will start adding up the bucks. just an option..

you can also start the process with a few cfl's and then het the HPS when it gets close to the flower show. and then maybe just use those cfls around the house. or give em to someone else. i replaced all my lights in my house with those and my electricity bill went down a few $$$. someone else said they just paid attention and dropped there bill like $50 by turning off and unplugging stuff. i have been doing this for a while, last bill, before the grow was $26 thats a whole house!

make sure to show us your glory!

The light is like $7 at walmart! Get at least a 600W. You won't be sorry.

Most new ballasts are switchable so you can run a MH bulb for veg and then switch to HPS for flower.

Don't worry about CO2 until you get some light.

One good reason for light and airy buds is maybe your harvesting to soon. If you are using Cfl's use alot and mix the spectrums. 6500k and 3000k at the same time. Keep a journal.......... write down when you give nute feedings and waterings. Im sure you will find the culprit. G'Luck:-)

Hank.
