He claimed to be the next coming of christ, except this time it was for retribution on the human race, the opposite of loving.

Also everyone said he was a best friend, a brother, a father figure, a lover, he was a man of many faces, and was able to be whatever you wanted him to be. He was self conscious, not narcissistic. And I think his actions were righteous.

I can see exactly what you're saying, getting a lot of attention may be a bit self centered, but he thought it was for the greater good.

I can't stand celebrities, I don't understand the whole concept, giving people shitloads of money to look pretty, while people starve right down the street. Materialism, and public interest in their personal lives, basically worshiping them for no reason.
