Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to have look at my issues and any help or feedback would be appreciated.
SET UP:
Small 900mm x 600mm x 900mm DD90 Grow tent
1 x Duel spectrum 200watt CFL
1 x 4 inch extraction fan
2 x sensi skunk auto
OK soil with no perlite
Very cheap tomato nutrients minimum strength given every water, water, feed.
Moisture 45 - 50
Temps 75 to 80
Germinated 1st May
THE PLAN:
Im not looking for huge yields and just really wanting to learn the basics first. This grow was planned to be an outdoor green house grow but due to my climate limitations and fluctuations in day and night temperatures I decided to move them in doors after some reading.
THE PROBLEMS:
The first issues that were showing were the good old Taco on the top of the plant which I put down to the heat levels in my green house which on a warm day 90 degrees and in direct sunlight. This however only effected one plant. I moved the plant indoors in a hope that the taco would ease which it did not and at this point I thought I maybe had a PH issue.
So purchased a PH pen and before feeding them some tap water stand for 24hrs and checked the PH which was 7.2 so adjusted with PH down to 6.5. I then proceed to water both plants with this new PH water and it quickly went down hill from there. Both plants are showing brow crispy tips and brown on the edges of the leaf. Plus any new growth is a shiny green color and burnt crispy tips.
At this point I decided to flush both plants and check the run off PH which was 4.2 in the run off. Now i know from reading that PH run off is hard to get accurate due many circumstances. But even after flushing with many gallons of water the PH only went up to 5.1. So in my mind I thought it best not to PH the water from now on in a hope it would equalize some how. When flushing I also used the tomato feed in a very low dose to replace any nutes lost to the flushing.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
I think the mistakes that I made were the temps in the green house? adjusting the PH of water? No Perlite in the soil mix? and cheap tomato feed.
They are both in there final pots now and some of the new growth is looking better and really wanted to understand if removing the deadish leafs would benefit the plant? when should I start to feed again? and do you suggest anything else to help make them better
Thanks for any advice and help its much appreciated
