It is not legal, there is a narrow framework for avoiding penalties. Fuck this legal bullshit. If I am an adult from 18-21, I am arbitrarily penalized, such legality....

Just cause its legal doesn't mean your insurance covers it go check your coverage. Second if you can't install a couple bolts on your truck to save your life how the hell did you move out of your parents house? Last the COB kits are plug and play if you can't follow color coordinated instructions how do you get through life?

insurance companies will not hesitate to use every gray area excuse in the book to deny a claim. im sure most policies prob have disclaimers in there for unrated wiring an/or illegal activity (even if it is state legal). im sure where it exists you would expect to have all ul-rated equipment, proper fire protection, signed off by fire marshall, visit by underwriter, etc. same as any other commercial insurance policy.
basement/closet home grows- forget about it in most cases. im of the opinion that if you arent diligent enough to assemble a dc powered light you may not be up to the task of safely growing product thats safe to consume either

Most ins companies will deny you and cancel your coverage for owning dogs that don't kill people. Google the bad dog list for ins companies so legal or not I do not see them covering cannabis. And if a company does you better believe they will do their homework with their attorneys and only cover certain lights and a grow that has safety up to speed for their standards. I can tell you this from experience preparing a fire department to meet ISO standards. The insurance rates the home owners pay are based (largely) on their local fire depts ISO rating. So it's funny to see this back and forth when the guy is just asking for advice on a light. I love DIY as much as anyone check my threads but not much recommended here would meet the standards an ins company would have for coverage if they even did cover a home grow so you're all arguing about nothing.

no but they can use a whole host of other factors. like the fact that many growers are fond of overloaded circuits, extension cords instead of permanent wiring, not using GFIs where appropriate, growing over plant limits, etc etc. not sure if youve ever had an insurance claim for anything but the adjuster's sole job is to screw you out of as much money as possible

i agree, a little more space would help.
most decent strains are not hard to get 1.2-1.4GPY with HQ LED in the 700-900 umol range. the high yielders will cross 1.5 in a well tuned garden. but as mongo said, the space might be an issue
so lets say 1.3 GPW with your average efficiency cob unit
908g/1.3 = 700W
9 cobs at ~75W each in a 4x4 can do this (~1000 ppfd, ~56 g/sf) but a 4x5 or 5x5 would be easier (45 and 36 g/SF respectively)
a safer bet in a 4x4 would be like 500 watts yielding 650-700g (750 ppfd, 1.3-1.4 g/w, 40-43 g/SF)
would need less veg time, maybe 3-4 weeks with some good topping and scrogging
as mongo said its strain (and grower skill) dependent. with the last part being a huge variable so i always recommend a lower ppfd because there is an LED learning curve even for experienced growers

I'm currently running Louie faced from archive and king Louie from Cali connection. I really only stick to OG strains with the two I mentioned being big yielders for OG varieties. I appreciate the feedback from y'all! I'm seriously looking to buy TONIGHT! I can't wait any longer. Is there any yield evidence from those timber or pacific grow lights compared to HPS? I need hard proof before I throw down some skrill.

I don't know about timber reports but you can find a pretty nice yield report of COB LED by growmau5 on YouTube. He's very clear in his explanations and he managed to get 1.4g/W

Are you doing 2 p's currently in your 4x4 with og with hps? I know its been done, but its extremely difficult to do as I'm sure you already know.

No, I wish, but I saw that claim from that black diamond led company but I'm sure it depends on the strain and other factors. I'm really looking at the 600 watt Vero 27 v7 from timber, or that hlg 550. Was gonna get that plc light but Its sold out. I'm really excited about this, can't wait to switch.
