How much soil per plant in sea of green?

I guess that depends where your getting your clones I would buy 1 teen an veg it for a week or 2 that would fill the space. If you get free clones do like 12 in tiny pots
Im cloning a plant myself, so their essentially free. How tiny of a pot?

Are you set on using soil? You could get a bunch of rockwool cubes they have a bunch of different sizes. Just cut a bunch of clones however many survive get that many pots/rockwool cubes. I Run my pots touching with a little space between each row so just measure your space an see what will fit
No. I'm not set on soil and would be willing to use an alternative, but I'm still curious on what size would be needed. Basically, I'm trying to get 1 Cola a plant and want enough space for the roots to be healthy.
I was thinking a gallon per plant but I dont know if that will be able to support the root system or not. I also dont know if it's "too much."

My last grow had two plants in two, 2 gallon fabric pots. One was over 60", the other was 45". Made a person wonder how there was space for the roots and dirt. After harvest, the root balls were literally thousands of fine, fuzzy roots. Occupying every inch of the soil.
The grow before that one was a kind of SOG. I used one gallon fabric pots. The finished height of those were in the 25" range. A 35" plant wouldn't have a problem in a one gallon.

I did 10 plants in a 4x4 in 2 gal pots.
Somethings I didn't consider
Smaller pots you're going to get root bound much quicker, meaning You have to water like 1-2 times per day in some cases.
Watering is a pain you can only give small amounts of water at a time to avoid flooding and spiking your humidity.
Reaching the plants to water them, you will end up bumping them and getting covered in resin.
I think sog grows are done best in a flood and drain table. Which I wouldn't use soil for.
Also don't forget stakes like I did. Support becomes a big issue.
