Is it necessary to ph RO water to 5.8 for seedlings in coco before you start to feed?

Thanks for replying. I have not grown in coco before and am pretty new to growing period. My plants are only 3 days old and I thought I was supposed to wait until first true leaves to feed. Are you saying I should start feeding right away? Thanks again.

Your true leaves should be showing in three days. Feed a light nute mix & let your coco dry, a little, between feedings. Keep the wet/dry cycle till roots are established then keep them wet. You want to feed every time you water and ph every time also. You want your roots searching for moisture but not drying out, if that makes sense. After they're established, then its time to feed them!

Thank you. Im using the complete line of Advanced Nutrients. I have been using them in dirt to grow autos with great results but that is the only nutrients I have tried.

One other question if you don't mind. I have been watering them with RO water and I never thought to Ph the water. My RO water is around PH 7. Will it shock them to switch to 5.8 all at once?

No feeding ph 7 could cause problems lower it next feeding.

If it was just plain water, it shouldn't have affected anything. Once you start feeding you will want the pH down at 6 or just under so as not to lock out the nutes. Get to feeding and feed daily. They will explode.

It may shock you! Play with the ph, between 5.7-6.1, nutes are absorbed at different ph's.
Don't forget the wet/dry cycles, until roots are good. Coco is a hybrid method, between soil & hydro. Think of it like you're coaxing the roots out to fill the container, like soil but not so dry, then you can treat it more hydro'ish by feeding multiple times daily.
Your ph adjustment should be your biggest adjustment the entire grow - not counting 12/12 flip. Anything else, introduce slowly.
I feel coco is easier than soil - you have complete nute control. Btw, an automatic watering system is your best friend!
