I hope it's ok when I quote you. A lot of chumps keep saying what Buck said facetiously only they think they are making a huge point. You are saying it better and with more authority than I could. I do hope you get your shot at having one some day. But having been around guns a lot, I don't find them all that interesting. For those that hunt, yes, I can see a reason.

Of course its all good lol yeah that's exactly what I want to do, get my hunting licence. I don't see the point of shooting lumps of clay, or even hunting for no reason other than killing, id want to be hunting roos for selling them, or going out exterminating vermin on properties etc. We view guns in a different way to Americans

Reminds me of a story about my sister in law. Brother and SIL are totally on the gunfighter nation side of life. I got word the the other day (long time ago) that they needed a new dishwaser because my sister in law shot the dishwasher. But that's not the funny part of the story. She shot the dishwasher because she was
shooting at a mouse and missed.

glad it helps there. Did you know that these mass school shootings are all performed with arms that a store sold the shooter, after a background check ? None bought theres at a gun show, or circumvented registration either. Other than them lying about their schizophrenia and the anti psychotic meds they take to control it, their applications were completed to the satisfaction of the law.
If these guns were garnished illegally there would be no law stopping criminals either. Consider the shooters all knew they were facing life if caught, not ten years for illegal guns , but life for killing people regardless of how they acquired their weapons of choice.
We have rules....they are not followed. Our paid assigned cop at the latest school shooting ran and hid and soon as he heard gunshots!
Neighbors called the FBI with video confessions of this guy and his intentions, they called local police who responded 31 times!
They told school officials and they called in mental health pros...and they all enabled this man to kill kids with his store bought guns.
what rule about illegal guns would have prevented this again?

we've stopped caring about our human capital and are more concerned with financial capital. privatization of anything concerning rights and laws should be abolished it's our own fault though, we didn't do anything once we learned that cops have revenue quotas.

When you say "we" the problem is there isn't a universal "we" that thinks alike, that is evidenced by the problems, so the best we can hope for is mutual individual respect when it comes to doing things. That way each person can self govern within the sphere of their own rights.
You have rights as an individual, no greater and no less than other individuals.
Non existent rights which no individual has (obviously), cannot be aggregated by a few people nor by several or thousands of people and somehow create rights which none of the individuals have. It is self evidently and mathematically impossible. A sum of a thousand zeroes is still zero.
So from that, we know, abolishing anything by a group is not the way to go, if none of the individuals within the group have the right to abolish the thing to be abolished.
How to walk it back is a question that should be answered in the context of who has a right to do or not do what is wanted to be walked back. If that isn't true, and you wish to deny the reciprocity of rights, then just grab a gun and kill people that disagree with you and make a legislative decree that hereafter 2+2 = 5.
Cops? The best ones are at the very least ignorant, the worst ones are psychopathic and all of them have taken an oath to enforce laws, even laws which violate other peoples rights. So they've all sworn to violate people. A sad lot.
