Root zone and plant foliage growth are two completely different things as far as temperature is concerned.

Id love to see a link cause i specifically
Rember reading some wher about peak plant metabolism when the roots where at a warmer temp

NO. cooler water avoids problems no matter what compared to warmer. 77 & 67 are drastically different levels for DO. You dunno what yer talkin bout mate.

let's say that your water temps are 65. only half the roots are in the water anyways. the roots from the stem to the water line are suspended in the air and would be closer to whatever temp the top of the tote is.

So are you saying that half of the roots in cold water and half in warmer air is the best of both worlds. Mabey i could see that .

But why would i pay to chill just for a few degrees if the do level is very close between 67 and 72?

But i wouldnt argue with people with phds in plant biology

Holy fuck dude yea i know its 14 but what temp is the water at 14 dude?

Like i said edit your graph to show the actual usable water temp by plants which is 65 to 72

Waters dissovled oxygen level based on temp

Hence when you boil water you see bubbles thats the oxygen leaving

But you cant give your plant 0 degree water Duh

I guess i have to dig up those dissovled oxygen test results again lol

In my DWC rooms I’ve had the best results with 75f water, 84f at the canopy height, 77f at the main stem base.

So I agree with Cold$moke that it doesn’t pay to use a chiller to make it a few degrees cooler if his water is hovering around 75f.

65f water gave me the worst results that I’ve ever had in the past 3 years. Downright stunted. In two side by side rooms that water temp greatly reduced yield with all other temps and EC within range. 600 watt lamps were only used twice also and the yield was still brought down tremendously.
I only went that low (65f water)with 2 side by side runs but I’ll never do it again.
