newbie solo hydro grow

sup all been a long time since i been on here!
did a little auto-flower cheese trip maybe 2013 or so & now just getting back into it again. good times.

on this grow, 1st plant started back in the end of January, Alien Rock Candy feminized and just turned on the youtube to get her started. back in 2013 the cheese plant was a soil grow so this plant i started from seed went straight to hydroponics after getting good root development in rock wool, took just a bit over 1 week.

today is 6/20 and for the past 5 or so weeks she's been flowering (mostly on the top half) but today she's starting day 1 of new light cycle, yep, kept her in veg stage pretty much for 4 months + 20 days

:)

started her in a 24 x 24 x 48 tent with just 2 gooseneck 50w par 38 full spectrum
now she's in a 24 x 48 x 72 w/ additional 50w full spectrum, 60w par 38 full spectrum, 36w red only par 38, 14w red only led panel, and 37w full spectrum led panel
she's too tall for her tent & top is getting bent a little and just didn't know how or when to start her sog/scrog so for next time i'll be on here & do it the right way

at just under 300w she's doing good and by next week will be adding pk 13/14 + "humboldt's best secret plant food" in addition to current nutrients: CaliMag + general hydroponics triple set flora/bloom/micro. with evaporation rate pretty much renewing the water/nutrient container just about once a week or so.
after another 1 month, end of July, was suggested to add the plagron sugar royal..it's pricey but all reads have been nothing but positive so far..

here she is a few weeks ago less the 50w full spectrum and the 2 led panels...2nd plant in the tent next to her was another ARC (feminized?) also from seed but for some reason it started to produce seeds in her 1st month so i stopped that grow & now i'm just focusing on this one. i'll post new pics of her this week.

also in the works... still need to kick in the air ducts / humidifier / air purifier in addition to a little fan on her about 4ft away. not much scent for now but prolly get loud in here in the next 2weeks and might need to move her down to the garage...trying to move in the next few months so didn't think about doing cuttings or starting another newbie again so trying to do what i can for this 1st hydro solo grow

*last pic was the one that i cut w/the seeds, leaves at seedling were fat too bad it didn't go good

thanks for reading + any notes greatly appreciated

One word: SCROG
she's super tall now so isn't scrog too late? or do i tie down LST style then grow her sideways then? should've jumped on here few months ago when i was thinking of netting but w/this 1st trial really just wanted to see how it goes... and now it's going!!

Supercrop or LST at this point. Your light coverage is so scattered you're not going to get much otherwise

Ty man i never heard of supercropping i just searched some vids & it looks like it will help plenty for what i have going on. I'll throw some pics when i'm done but i guess for now it's time to trellis

Tipped her last night & not looking good so far but it's only day 1 in training. Bunch of chutes became tangled and lost some but when she starts to stretch out again i'm sure it'll be easier to do a little better separation/coverage. I'll get some some pics going when she's looking up to par but the recovery may take a little bit longer than i anticipated. Here's the last pics i took of her before LST attempt.

*I totally get it now though :)
..next round will be 100x better

Ok the way that plant has grown is downright fucking trippy lol. I've veggied a couple of plants like that and they got very awkward in shape and too massive for my tent. Best option is to get plant ties or some twine string, and sort of bend the tallest limbs outwards to the outer edge of the plant so that its horizontal. It will perk right back up and try to grow back towards the light, so you may need to continue to tie the new stem growth over to keep it growing horizontally. And is your container clear? I don't think that's a good thing in hydro bud...but hey, if it works it works.

Thx bro haha for real right? Weird but I first tried to net like scrog after bending technique but it wasn’t responding so had to net her again when I saw how it wanted to grow..tiny space but super fun101 learning experience. I’ll grt some string and tie more of what I can..plenty of grow time left she’s got at least 7wks+ so she’ll be ok. Be Should’ve Scrogged way earlier tho.. next one gonna be nice !

hey @hotrodharley the supercrop worked great! if i had more light to cover the outer areas too i think she'd spring up a ton.

tied down / together branches in the middle of the plant to fill some of the inner canopy as @Logan Burke also suggested. today she looks great & week by week i'm seeing better growth

this water change i slowed down the nutrients since she's been on the same feeding schedule/evaporation time since seed, and literally overnight picked up great bloom, at least aesthetically. if you think i should just stay on the same schedule or slow it down a bit please advise.

thanks again!

Sup everyone just updating on the ARC round 2. Started from seed Sept. 5 and on the 8th saw great root development so dropped her in 5g reservoir in 2nd try deep water culture, no nutrients just pH 6.7 then last week gave her 1st calcium & general hydroponics feed at half amount than recommended on the bottle. Since my 1st post picked up a 9 to 5 at a local dispensary here in Denver and getting some good tips from players here at work. Some working with DWC, others good w/hydro, and another working with strains like Mendo Purps / Wedding Cake / etc so trying few things here & there. She's still tiny but looking healthier than 1st plant w/extra 50w & little fan in there getting good air movement. Here's a couple pics from yesterday.. working in a new tent (same tent i transferred 1st plant into when it got big) still 1 plant at a time in the 24 x 48 x 76 till i get another apartment but it's cool for now. Any tips as always greatly appreciated!
