Hello everyone,
First I want to thank whoever for the site. This is only my 2nd grow and i can see i need some professional help.
My first grow was in soil. And the end product was less then desirable. I learned that I dint have enough facts or knowledge to grow something worth it besides something to look at. (Ya it was bad).
Didnt know what I was growing(strain) or anything I learned as I went. So now I'm trying my hand at dwc, as I feel it's something I can learn better. And is better for you.
My goal is to grow a nice looking flower , I know growing is half the battle as I will need to dry and cure.
So I figure I'll update here once a week and if someone sees me messing up or happens to see a comment that will help me that would be great.
Thanks again

DWC is not as easy as soil or peat. No idea your geographical location. If summer is approaching research chillers.

Buy a good EC meter and learn to use it. Unless you like spending money unnecessarily buy good litmus paper to check pH instead of a meter. Litmus paper is more than sufficient for our purposes.

You should try to figure out why your first grow sucked first. Shit seed? Poor lighting? Humidity? DWC is no magic answer and it requires daily checks at least. Good luck.

No this was just soil, top soil to be honest. They were free seeds someone gave me, no idea what strain. The picture is the end product. Like I said could be dry and cute was fine wrong, maybe the entire grow process. I read and watched videos so I figure to try and that's what I got . So this time I ordered seeds (fem) and am trying the dwc.

I was very vigilant on checking levels of light, soil, ph. Kept ph in 5.5 to 6.5 had a tons of lights, but I just ordered a led grow light, full spectrum 1500watt.
I used flora series (micro-gro-bloom that order) had a bug that I looked up, root aphids, got rid of them with a aphid killer, that a reputable business had me use.enough room in tent.

Most soils and "super"soils require a ph of 6.5 to 7 for microbes to be active I believe. Anything lower than that, you're killing the beneficial bacteria & organic compounds within the soil. I'm no pro and correct me if I'm wrong. Hope your next grow goes well m8 cheers. :blsmoke:

Thank you ,I hope as well.im not sure, everytime I look it up I see the 5.5 to 6.5, but then I read or watch a YouTube video and hear the person say they are at the perfect ph of 6.8. So truly I dont know. I hope it's at 5.5 to 6.5 cause that's where my 5 gal bucket is at

Stick with soil. What you’re talking about is gonna get you a major headache. The bud sucked cause it was chopped early and heavily seeded. That’s part of the problem right there. Next time just use somethjng simple and domt listen to all the fancy recipes and what not. Just keep it simple for now. Go with something peat based like Promix. Mix it 50/50 with maybe some ocean forest soil. A bit of extra perlite. Tablespoon of dolomite lime mixed in per gallon of mix. That’ll be a decent base for you.

I wouldn't personally recommend a light that has 1500w in the title.. Its likely not even a 5th of that in power.

Get some good genetics. A light that is enough for your space, ventilation and air circulation to match and try again.
Growing is easy when things are in your favour.
You will do better next time.

Sadly l have already started the dwc and spent the cash to make the set up. This isnt something I can sink cash into for a few weeks,
I just reread my post and it was a bit harsh. You can get through it fine. Sounds like you’re doing the right thing in learning as much as u can. Keeping a journal here. Good luck for sure. I look forward to seeing how it all goes
