Clones taco when dome is removed

my clones leaves curl and taco when I remove the dome. They are about 2 weeks old. Roots aren’t popping out the bottom of the soil yet. But it has been getting new growth on the top. Why do they taco when I remove the dome after 15 minutes?

Yeah. That’s what I’ve noticed. But damn it’s been about 2 weeks. How much longer I gotta wait for these bastards? They have been pulling that shit for a few days now.

And they curl upward like fold into themselves.

Yea, humidity. Too much foliage and too little roots most likely.

Fuck these things are taking so long. Guess I gotta wait it out. At least they are still alive after 2 weeks though. Hopefully by this weekend I see roots out the bottom.

Next cloning in just gonna use a bubble cloner and no dome I heard is the best for those ones. Quick roots too.

I've always had problems cloning till I got my ez cloners. super easy and usually takes little over week for nice roots to pop.

I waited three weeks in total and now all of my clones have been turned into begging healthy plants patience is key with clones I found just leave them and check back in a while

for what it's worth...I don't bother even looking for roots. I put cuttings into rockwool or peat pucks...whatever's handy. Then by the time they can go domeless, I plant them into a solo cup of coco. Helps keep the rockwool more moisture stable. I run 40+ humidity and can take the dome off in three days.

I say just pretend you saw roots and go ahead and do whatever you were going to do with them.

PS Tacoing is an indication of low humidity but for a clone...if the dome removal doesn't cause wilting...you're ok. Just try to raise RH around them. Pans of water, spray, wet towels...whatever.

Well I transplanted them a few days ago. And one wilted real bad after. But they did have roots. Soil was bone dry.

So I got two clones living in solo cups now.

They chilling in my main tent now. They look a lot better today. But I haven’t taken a pic

I start from day 1 of cloning to prepare them. Dome off for a few hours. Next day even more. I think they get dome dependent.

Yes I feel it is bad...which is why I do things the way I do. 2 weeks at 100% humidity is a recipe for stem rot and fungal infections. Plants like to breathe free...not remain stifled in a damn dome.

The plants have to be stressed a bit to motivate them. I just choose to do it early on to get them out of the dome asap.

Mine lived in a dome for maybe 3 weeks. I haven’t had the dome on for about 24 hours and they are looking fine.
