anyone know of a good spray I can use on the fungus knats ? I assume that's what they are they look like fruit flies... Never really ever had a problem with them till the last grow and now I see them again ...I assume its from this shit soil I bought from lowes got 11 bags all potted with the extra shit I add normally I don't have problems but lowes changed up the bags and defiantly the soil because it looks like shit with chunks of small wood ...to late to change out its all potted with plants ….I let the soil pretty mush dry out before I water plus spray the top soil with neam oil and do a light fluffing of the soil that has seemed to work only see a few here and there just got sticky strips today so got those all up ….Just wondering if anyone knew of a good spray just for extra protection

imo get a bti if u want u can get gnatrol I use it payed 50 bucks for a lb been using it I got them fuckers back but I hit the room again for the second time in the past 2 weeks wanna hit it once a week and I have noticed the population go down massively but u have to keep applying it for a while to make sure u got all the fucked hope I helped yellow fly traps are amazing to it stops the adults from laying eggs

What's a bit ? And how is gnatrol applied just on sprinkle on top soil

Hypoaspis miles took care of all mine long ago. Mine came from EWC. Even the Wiggle Worm EWC were full of them. So I would just top dress with EWC, and get some sticky traps for the fliers. The bti was a good suggestion too though.

You have to break the life cycle. For everyone you see flying, there are umpteen times that many growing as larvae in your media.
1. BTI for the larvae. A bacteria. Biological warfare. Many brands. All the same.
2. Sticky traps and a spray Insecticidal soap for the adults.

If you don't break the cycle by utilizing the above routes of extermination, they will be a never ending problem. Good luck.

Fwiw I always mix BTi into my mix from the get go. Add some biochar to give it a nice surface to thrive. Among the many other benefits.

Lowes sells both BTi and insecticidal soap. Just grind the dunks up.

is BTI the name brand of a product or does it stand for something and I am in lowes a few times a day getting shit for work so I can look I know they have both of them I have seen them …...the neam oil works good and the yellow sticky traps are def working hell I was seeing 1-2 fly around at a time I put traps up at noon yesterday its noon now I just looked and have 9 of them stuck i'm not infested but that's 9 less and I have them hanging everywhere so I need to get them now before they become a huge mess

BTi is a bacteria, not a brand name. A lot of products use it as their active ingredient. But to be clear, BTi is an abbreviation of the name of the strain of bacteria

BTi is the name of the active ingredient which is a bacteria. BTi = Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. If you've seen 9, you have hundreds in the media.

"Adults live about 7 to 10 days and deposit eggs on the moist soil surface or in soil cracks. Females lay up to 100 to 300 eggs in batches of 2 to 30 each in decaying organic matter. Eggs hatch in 4 to 6 days; larvae feed for 12 to 14 days. The pupal stage is about 5 to 6 days."
