I'm in southern BC, but we still don't make it past October 24-27th in the valley bottom (1100 ft)on an average year. Up the valley where I grew this year, it was a Sonoff TH16 connected to a heater with a 100' extension cord, that kept things alive at night ;-) It was set to go on at 3 C (turns on at 2) and off at 4 C (turns off at 5), just to make sure that nothing died.

Peaks BB, NL and C-99 are on the way....this years choices so far. There can be only 14 chosen for the yard. Sigh. IMG_0296.JPG

@cannaloop Fuck I laughed when I saw you had to recusitate this thread again. Here’s my 2 cents. I’ve been researching and decided on PeakSeedsBC as well. Here’s what I’ve found to be good outdoor strains from research only. I haven’t run any yet.
C99 (reports say support needed)
Skunk Berry
Northern Skunk
Sweet C99
Kush Berry
Kush Skunk
NL x C99
Texada Skunk x C99
Kush x C99
There are likely more but this is what I’ve found. Email Mike and he’ll send a list of the strains you don’t see on his site. I plan on running as many as I can this year. I’m Zone 5A

Are there many more strains not on the site he has on hand? Don’t wanna bother him if not. PS North Berry I highly recommend side branching was incredible. Ran it 2 summers ago and was my best outta 4-5 strains.

I'm in Alberta and would like to try an outdoor grow a natural.....no green house.
I'm on 10 secluded acres about 25 mins outside of Edmonton.
I'm a seasoned indoor grower.

So with our short summers I'm thinking that an auto flower started in mid May
and placed outside mid June should finish up around mid August, would be the best.

Does this make good sense? Or am I out to lunch on my thinking?

If Im on the right track......any strain suggestions?

Thanks

I grew a few autos an hour north of Edmonton last year. Started them at the beginning of May, put them outside on May 24. Harvest was Aug 15 but I had to chop a couple weeks early due to bud rot/rain. The strain was lemon drop auto and I harvested around 4 oz per plant dry. It was my first try with autos and I’m sold on them for outdoor.

I’ll be starting my outdoor autos the first week of May again this year. It’s like anything else, the finishing time listed on the pack is under ideal conditions. With our climate here, I’m making sure everything is done by September 1. I’m growing Mephisto double grape and Mephisto Mango smile this year.

I've had good luck with texada timewarp, purple kush, sour diesel, and most recently blue dream. I'm on the west coast of BC
When did the time warp finish outside can u remember? I wanna try that bc pinewarp ans bc hashplant from bc depot this year I’m in New Brunswick Canada. I did 1 purple kush before in a 5 gal here and it finished about October 10-15th, it didn’t mold but it just grew into a Christmas tree type deal about 5 feet with the tall 5 gal included so 3.5ft and I got about 2oz off her, I usually run a clone only strain I get here in NB they call it skunk freezeland, and I used to be able to get r2 , both them strains would give me bout a pound per every 3 put outside 2 plants per 3.8cubic foot bag I cut em in half an it’s bout 12-17 gallons I think..the first to middle of June they always went out side as a 8” or so barely rooted clones. 6oz a pop roughly, nice strains but I can’t get em anymore and they’ve been cloned so many generation I don’t even wanna do anymore of it , so any recommendations to strains for even further east than Ontario would be greatly appreciated lol , if it works in Ontario tho I can make it work here we have very similar falls

My buddies would always get sum clone only hashplants and they didn’t know what they were rly doing and always got rock solid nugzzz , way harder than my skunk freezes or R2, less yield but they only put em in shitty tall 5 gal buckets and give them plant prod 20-20-20 all the way thru then last feed end of August and chop around the middle of September, if thT helps anyone .im buying 5pack fem of HP from cropkings n 5fem BC hashplants from bc depot for sure I’m gonna figure out which one is the better one, whichever phenos are the latest probly cuz there very mild resistant I heard, then il probly do sum fast version something . Northern lights or sumthing heavy in yield . Danielsonn I would take the same approach as me dawg get few diff fast version strains going and try sum hashplant I’m sure we won’t be disappointed man

Im trying a beanhoarder Matanuska thunderfuck/Columbian Gold x big freeze this year but I’m at 42 in Ontario. There are a bunch of his freeze and big freeze crosses on hemp depot. Some were advertised as pretty early, required less light, bug/mold/frost resistant.

My plants get soaked every morning. The humidity here can be high compared to the coast. The heat and bugs are ridiculous at times. If this year plays out good I’m gonna have plants outside until the end of November here. A neighbour gave me an IBL that he made from Columbia red hair brick seeds starting in the 70’s, and has been growing in the corn ever since.

I’m going to try a hash plant this year too Mazar-i-sharif/PCK x Lebanese. Trying this landrace mix in hopes that it can resist a bit of humidity.

Island Dream IBL was finished fully in mid September for me last year and made beautiful dry sift hash. 1:1 cbd and a hybrid structure. I only got one viable seed from 10 so if anybody else has this IBL let me know, as I cannot find it for sale now.

I don’t know about the potency of freezeland I have not knowingly tried it but we do get a little bushweed trickle down from the North. Freeze seems to be a Quebec/east thing from what I have gathered. If you read through the descriptions I can trust that this guy has made at least some selection before the pollen was chucked.

I actually got the seeds for free off a dude on reddit. I only got them to about 4' high after a late transplanting from 3 gal fabric pots to 15 gal pots but got 1/4 lb dry off each plant even after the bud rot. I crossed them to an Afghani male I had laying around and I'm gonna grow out the F1s this year. They won't be autos but hopefully they still finish. If not I've got some Mephisto autos as a back up.

I’m going with the petrolia/c99xfreezeland 100% , only 45$ for 10 seeds plus 10-20$ for shipping..I’ve grown freezeland and R2 crosses almost every year outdoors since I was 15 I’m 27 now super excited to have my own seeds of it now fuck yeah!!! Freedom seed bro u saved my life I been looking for freezeland seeds my whole life..didn’t wanna fuck around with regulars but I guess il have to start em all up the end of April/ first of May and grow em out 2-3 weeks n flip the lights to 12/12 for few days n hopefully there all females, I’m also gonna try either crop kings 5pack fem of hashplant and sumthing else all from same site, or go onto the true north seed bank and order the BC hashplant with a couple singles or 3 pack fems of canucks fast version c99 and something else I’m undecided, all I know is the 5 hashplant I get I’m taking 2 clones off 3 of em er sumthin cuz I want 10-12 of them at least, at least 10 freezeland and half a dozen or so of sumthing else .. goin for 10+LB this year fuck it

If it makes you feel any better I popped two of the freezeland cross I bought and they were both quite vigorous. Easily tossed their shells.

If you are looking at true North go through the ace catalogue I think I seen a nice hashplant in there. Im actually thinking about ordering some Malawi from them and if their description is even close then I can finish that here. 10-13 weeks and recommended to finish first week November up to 43 latitude.

Shit sorry I didn’t get a notification on that. He does have quite a few other strains available. %100 worth checking out.

So, it's getting to be that time of year to start thinking about what flavours we will all growing this summer. I'll be starting mine indoors around the end of march I guess so I need to order seeds one of these days.

Has anyone grown one of the Grizzly strains from Kootenay mountain seeds? They also have a texada timewarp I might be interested in.

I grew BC Big Bud, God Bud and OG Kush outdoor last summer. The BC Big Bud finished first, smelled the best and yielded the best. The Kush took so long I ended up losing some of it. I might consider growing the Big Bud again as one of my strains.

PeakseedsBC has the Berry strains and a few others but I haven't tried them yet.

What are some other strains people have in mind this year?
Going with Moby Dick and Cookies.
