Bluelab conductivity meter, operator error?

I've finally got a bluelab ec/conductivity pen.
Calibrated it no sweat after cleaning to 2.8 in the calibration solution.

I go to use it an any other liquid and it hasn't read anything.
Tried putting soil in tap water, nothing.
Tried reading what I consider 1/2 strength nutes, nothing.

What am I doing wrong?
I go back to the solution and it goes to 2.8.
Wtf?

It was an amazon purchase and the box wasn't mint but not concerning.

Trying to figure out if it's the meter or the operator. Lol

Yes it reads the 2.77 calibration fluid no issues.

But reads 0.00 in every else.

amazon has a great live customer service. I had a problem with a product I bought and within 5 minutes I received a refund

I would start by changing the batteries, cleaning off the probes and re-calibrating it.

make sure it isnt stuck on "hold" this is when you hit the power button twice. It will flash hold when on hold

My bluelab soil ph pen stopped calibrating yesterday, called amazon and they said I have to call or email bluelab myself. Things less then a month old.

The calibration check mark won’t come up anymore and it reads 3 points off from my other pen.

damn bad meter maybe because I've calibrated mine at least 8+ times and no problems. i wound shoot blue lab a message doe i think they should be nice i hope.

Oh they will take care of it for sure. I’ve gotten a couple other replacements in the past without a issue. As you can see no calibration Even though I just did both this morning

if you are planning on replacing the soil PH probe, I recommend the leap meter from bluelab. It has a replaceable probe and reads ph much faster than the one i was using in water.
I also hear apera makes some good meters as well.

another thing to try with a bad PH probe is soak in the storage solution for a week or two then clean and recalibrate it.

Ok, I just pulled the battery from the conductivity meter (ph meter is good) and re calibrated it and still reading 0.00 in everything but the cal solution.

I have to conclude there's a defect of some sort.

did you clean off the two conductivity points? They are dark, and may be oxidized
on the ppm probe you pull that blue cap off and use the tool and paste you get with the calibration kit

I'd bet its defective because i rarely clean mine and it is only off 10-20 ppm when i re-cal it

I did use the paste and tool to scrub it and the toothbrush on the globe part.
Twice so far.
Really hoping it was something simple I missed. Seems I just have a calibration solution checker.

It's fucked, starting w amazon later today to sort it out.
