Whitening leaves?

I think it happened around the time that i moved my plants outside for the day while i cleaned and updated my box, and then after i moved them back into the box, a couple of their leaves have turned white. Not really dying off per say, but looking unhealthy and white halfs of the leaves. My plants are 10 days old and are in dixie cups so i dont know if they were suceptable to unhealthy things while i moved them around or something in the outside air. I dont see how it could be mold because iv had continuous light on, any help would be appreciated

Na it was probably like 78 degrees outside and the sun was beamin down. My digital thermostat read 98 from how hot the sun was comin down, but it wasnt too strong by any means, was kind of dry though

Damn, now im seeing other plants that have small amounts of the white on them. I have 2 pc fans as exhaust and one 7'' clip on fan in the box and its still 85-89 in there. The pc's are gettin replaced as soon as my other fans come in the mail, but that would be my only answer to the whitening, is a heat issue? has anybody ever seen this or know anything about it?

some pic would be nice. since you had them outside you may want to check for bugs. i had 1 getting white spots on the leaves and when i checked it out underside of the leaves had spider mites. but without pics its hard to say.

I took pics but i couldnt find my damn cable that hooked it to the computer. I think i might just pick another one up, so i'll have them up shortly. Smoke and coke, is that a plant of yours in your aviater?

huh, well i tryed to upload some pics but it said the adminastrator didnt approve or some shit, any suggestions on puttin pics up in threads?

I can't get the thumbnail to open any larger, but from the small pic it kind of looks like sunburn. I get that on my some of my houseplants with I put them out in the spring. Don't put them in the sun anymore if they aren't used to it.

Alright figured it out, i dont think its too big of a problem because their newer leaves are lookin healthy, but there still shouldnt be a reason for the old ones to turn brown or white for that matter. temps have been kind of high, with highes at like 95, but they weren't there for too long, whatda you guys think?

I think in a month you aren't even going to remember those little leaves, the plant won't either.

Do I see 2 plants in one pot up there? That is bad, 1 plant per pot, always.

Damn thats a shame, i can open them up to full screen by clickin on them, hopefully that changes for you. It could very well be sun burn, but some white spots appeared 3 or 4 days after they were in the sun.

OK, I got it to open bigger. You might want to take some sharp scissors and carefully trim those burnt parts off the edges of the leaves. It does look like the sunburn my houseplants get.

Plants sunburn just like people do. I know it's something people don't even think about, but it's true. I have one big tree plant that I can't put outside, it just fries too badly, it's always inside now.

PS get those two in seperate pots before they grow enough roots to tangle up. You'll be glad you did later on.

They're twins, how weird is that. Like humans like plants i guess. I only planted one seed in each cup, im possitive. But they are lookin real good and growin a good rate. Im growin out 2 of the best mothers from the nine i have now, and i wouldnt mind havin the twins as one of them. I was going to trim them earlier but i didnt know if it would stress them at such an early age, iv heard that the 1st set of leaves helps them retain nutrients, but i guess they have enough other leaves to be fine

I just have a habit of trimming dead spots off. When a plant has a dead spot on the leaf it puts a lot of energy into trying to revive that spot.

Yea thats what i figured. I used hydrogen peroxide to clean the scissors before and while i was using them, i was just worried they might get sick or something from something unsanitary, but they should be fine, thanks alot misshester
