Trumpy* also thinks of his base as 'disgusting' and that maybe 'covid was a good thing' so he 'won't have to shake their disgusting hands anymore'.
my answer is: no, i don't think he's funny.

He will be hilarious when he is in court wearing an orange jumpsuit, chained to a chair with a ball gag in his pie hole and his eyeballs bugged out as he squirms in the chair. Until then it's a dystopian tragicomedy at best, mass murder at it's worst, trying to end constitutional rule and grab for tyrannical power is no joke, neither is disenfranchising tens of millions of voters and removing their basic human rights.

I have a buddy that thinks he is funny but the type of humor that he uses is to degrade and put down others. It is funny if a comedian can pull it off and the audience knows it is meant in jest and the comedian does not actually believe what he says. In Trump's case he actually does believe the stuff he spews and knowing that removes any joking around as far as I am concerned.

Good explanation and you are right. Do you also think when comics do it they are making fun of something to bring it to light? Like it is so painful for them, the only way they can express their frustration is through their craft? Like when Louis C.K made fun of Chinese factory workers, but maybe he feels sorry for them to be working in such horrible conditions.
