Boy am I glad I got this hilarious shit out of my system a year ago. I see most are still trying to justify paying double because their plants can really tell the difference :bigjoint:
I usually don't jump into these things anymore, but sometimes the bad information that is flying around just outright chaps my ass. I don't know these people and will never know these people. What I do know is that they are people. People like me. They just want to grow great dope. They just fall for the all the stupid charts and marketing balogna. "Wait wait I have a multi colored chart to show you." or "Wait wait I have a 10% discount code because I'm fucking you on the other 90%." Shit never ends :)

Don't know why you hate on HLG so much. If it wasn't for them China would have nothing to copy.

I’m honestly surprised HLG hasn’t focused more on bar lights. That being said, if somebody saw your 4x8 and said “nah I’d rather cover a 4x4 for the same price” they should be admitted for a mental eval.

I don’t hate HLG, I plan on buying more QB 96’s in the future but I do think you give them more credit than is due. They didn’t reinvent the wheel or do anything all that innovative. All they did was configure some diodes on a board. The real credit goes to Samsung/Osram/Cree/etc. They are the ones who actually developed something. Considering you can buy strips, which are essentially PCB’s with diodes from the manufacturers, wouldn’t HLG technically be copying their design? Take a Samsung F-series double row strip and turn it from a rectangle to more of a square shape and bam, you have a QB 288.

They'd have to sell it for $2k with the standard HLG upcharge :) Stephen knows consumers will only accept a certain degree of fucking before they say, "ouch, too hard." Then Stephen whispers in his hear, "here you go honey - you earned your 10% discount code." Too much? :)

ROFL, I never get tired of watching these debates. Let's not forget to bash Timber, Gavita etc... when people buy a car do they just go for the cheapest they can find? They will all get you there after all. How about a house, do we just look for whatever will cost the least? There are advantages to spending more that any objective person can see. There are also advantages to going with the cheaper alternatives which all should be able to see. But let's just bash each others choices and carry on about how foolish the other side is, its definitely more entertaining. I personally hold no brand loyalty to any company. I picked my HLG light for specific reasons and dont regret it. I know some like Hydrokid went with SF and Mars and is quite happy with his choices. I see bk78 grows killer stuff with his Meijiu lights. In the end we should all do our research, pick what works for us and enjoy. Time to smoke a joint, happy growing all, whatever you grow with.

Gospel. Preach it sir. I have no issues with their DIY kits. I think it's great that HLG stocks quality authentic components for the MacGyver grower that isn't afraid to strip some wire and make a few connections. The rest of their business model is absolutely bananas.

To be clear I ripped off walmart. Pay attention. And technically I didn't rip them off. They failed to deliver my order in the time frame agreed upon at the time of purchase. They claimed they were issuing a replacement. It never showed up. I filed my dispute and ordered the product from amazon since walmart couldn't do their fucking job. My funds were subsequently refunded upon filing my dispute, and eventually the ghost shipment of starbucks miraculously arrived around 7 days late. I don't share hate. I just cut through the bullshit. Shall I cup your balls while I get to the fucking point? I don't like watching people get ripped off. What I hate even more than that is watching people dump praise on a company that overcharges for their products. It might give a newbie the wrong idea about how much it costs to get into growing. $1k for a single light to cover a 5'x5'? Please.
Do you stand outside whole foods and tell the people that shop there to go shop at Walmart? People know how to google information, they come here to talk to people who actually grow and get there input. What you do is ridicule people for their choices and it does sound like hate. can Google syour actions is up to you. Oh on your starsucks You could have refused the ghost shipment when it arrived but you didn't, you didn't pay for it so you stole it. Last thing, how about getting off your ass and do your own fucking shopping.

I'm actually having a great time, and it is definitely entertaining. To summarize your statement: Hydrokid and bk78 didn't get fucked :) You definitely said that in a very diplomatic manner. Kudos to you.

I actually honk and give 'em the bird as I drive by the front door blasting jimi hendrix star spangled banner. I think they get the point :)
Fedex doesnt' ring fucking doorbells genius. They dropped the package and bounced the fuck out. That's the cost of walmart fucking up their logistics, and really isn't my problem. You're welcome for the explanation :)
