chlorine dioxide tablets for sterilizing ?

Hey all,
I have been doing a lot of research on ways to keep our systems clean and sterile. I came across chlorine dioxide, looks like its a much more potent version of chlorine but it is also safe for people to clean water with and drink it after some time.
So i am wondering if anyone here has heard of this , or has used it or has any knowledge regarding this.
for example ( https://amzn.to/2KjnQbm ) this is sold as a water purifier for people on the go. If we can use it to drink the water then it should be ok for the plants no?
any advice or comment on this subject is welcomed.

I see you're looking at a lot of alternatives for res sterilization. I've been going down the same rabbit hole.

So far, looks like chlorine dioxide is created with a mix of sodium chlorite + citric acid. Both are relatively cheap compounds.
Another option is using antibiotics. Erythromycin is used for aquariums to control cyanobacteria (which is resistant to oxidizers) and any other bacteria. Although I don't know how well plants metabolize antibiotics.

Isn't that the stuff used to sterilize containers for which beer is made?

I have a packet somewhere. If it's the same stuff.

Probably? Looks like multiple different things are used for brewing sanitization.

FWIW, the dry chlorine dioxide tablets/powder is just solid sodium chlorite, some solid acid like citric acid, and inert filler.

Edit: Found more info...
According to the MSDS Oxine is minimum 3.35 sodium chlorite (can buy this as a solid powder, stable)
According to Oxine instructions, 3.25oz + 10g citric acid needed to "activate" it, wait 5 min, then add 1g water for a 1:40 dilution ratio to make 500ppm solution. Storage in dark area up to one week.

0.5-2ppm/gal needed for hydroponics treatment.
