ILGM seeds mixed reviews

So ive seen a lot of mixed reviews about this bank. Some people had good germination and sprouting results. A LOT of people cant get the beans to pop, much less sprout. I soaked 3 seeds for bout 12 hours till they sank. One seed already pooped its root out. I then planted them in jiffy pellets. The temperature and moisture has been controlled the whole time.11 days later, no progress. 2 seeds didnt pop. The one that did, it's root is the same length it was on day 1 when it was saoking.. They're no good.. ILGM apparently is great about replacing the seeds, but you will most likely get more dead seeds, from the reviews I've been reading, not to mention you probably have to send the old ones back. Everyone knows this is a time consuming process and it costs money. With that being said, i dont have time or money to throw away for negative results, or even mixed results for that matter. I will not buy from them again. Businesses should know what theyre doing or move onto other things. Obviously being a seed vendor isn't their strong side and they should probably just give up, being that a lot of these bad seed reviews are several years old and we're still getting bunk seeds from them..

I've ordered the 20 pack of the super silver haze and 20 pack of the Bruce Banner. So far I've germinated 3 SSH and 5 Bruce Banners. Out of the ones I've tried to germinate three of the Bruce Banners germinated and 2 of the super silver haze germinated. They're about 7 weeks in veg now and looking amazing. I soak them for 24 hours most of them pop well they were soaking and then I put the rest in a damp paper towel. So I had all together 5 out of eight seeds pop. As far as quality goes i'll let you know in 10 weeks lol

I have 10 banana kush auto seeds from them. The first 3 didn't do anything. I just started soaking 3 more and ill probably let them soak longer to see if that makes a difference. One of the 3 seeds from the first set was showing a liitle taproot before i planted it. Its the same size root now as it was before i planted it, like it stopped growing as soon as i took it out of the water. So thats my thinking on letting the 2nd batch soak a little bit longer. I will post an update as soon as i see some progress or a lack thereof lol

I had their pack of White widow germ 0 beans of 10, they replaced them, and since I have had no troubles germing their beans. I think they must have old packs mixed in.

They are pretty good at responding to bad germ rates and replacements.

They are in business to make money, not even attempt to provide a quality service these people are into marketing probably know nothing about weed.

Did you have to send the old ones back? I mean at the price of seeds, its worth it to go thru the trouble of mailing them back. Hopefully the replacements are viable. I agree with you also. Theyre either mixed together or they try to push old ones on people so it's not a loss. If someone complains they send a newer batch. If they dont, thats money made on old seeds that most banks probably would have thrown away. Thats just speculation tho. Im FAR from an expert on seed science lol

One of the bad reviews i read the other day mentioned that same thing. That this company is probably more educated in business and marketing than they are cannabis or seed bank knowledge. Ive seen several reviews saying that "Great Lake Genetics" is a good company to go with. Not a big selection on autos, but if they work, they work..

Contact customer service so they can send out the replacements. You don't have to send back the duds.

I did not have to send them back. They asked me to confirm how I tried to germ, and said pictures are preferred (I did not supply any). They then asked if I wanted the same exact order, or a credit for like 20% more. I took the credit and immediately ordered a different strain, which shipped fast and germed.

they always fix it.
They even fixed my order when my shit got stolen for my third and fourth order. Not even their bad on that. I just had to stop ordering from them because whoever stole my shit recognizes their packaging! Sucks...

That's just messed up. Sorry that happened. At least they made you whole again. If that was happening I wouldn't order either.

I thought about it but I think I'll wait till I pop a few more just to make sure that the germination rate on those ones are good. I don't want to have to keep having to request more seeds LOL. That way if I germinate another 10 and have poor germination rate I could just let them know right away exactly how many didn't pop.

I'll definitely look into that. By the way, im not trying to slander this company or anything. Just stating what kind of reviews i found on them. There were definitely good reviews but also alot of bad reviews, mostly relating to germination rates being super low. Im no expert tho. Just trying to see what other's opinions are on ILGM and their germination success/failure rates.

No shade from me! I only work for one person when it comes to weed and that's myself. I just figure if I have anecdotes and info that may help I will try! I bought from some banks a lotta folk here dis a lot, before doing research, and have gotten okay results. Just sharing my limited knowledge. :]

Okay. 2nd round of seeds soaked in water for 36 hours. Only 3 hours into soaking, one had sank and the other two stayed under when i dunked them under the surface of the water. All 3 of them cracked. One stuck its taproot out a good bit. The second one also did, but not as much. The third one cracked, but root not sticking out yet.
They then went into papertowel for 62 hours. Seems as if progress MAY have stopped as soon as they came out of the water (like last time with the first round of seeds).
They then got planted into cups with drain holes. The medium is moist and made of coco, pearlite, and peat moss. Mostly coco and pearlite. They've been in there for 72 hours now. So basically 7 days altogether since they hit the water. About 1.5 days in water, about 2.5 days in paper towel, and 3 full days in soil. They havent sprouted yet, but im being patient. Ive used a germ pad the entire time with the thermometer shut off deal on it to regulate the temp'. Ive kept that general area between 75° and 78°. Ive kept the seeds moist. Not too wet, but never dry.. They were buried "2 seeds deep" with taproot side pointed down. I didn't compact the dirt on top of it.. just lightly covered it. Im going to give them a full 14 days before i declare them dead then ill go in and investigate, to see if they made ANY progress at all. We shall see..

I've used ILGM exclusively since 2013. Never had an issue.

Use a moist paper towel inside an open ziplock. You want to give a seed a moist, aerated environment, not drown the damn thing.
I wasnt trying to "drown the damn thing". I was doing what doing what a LOT of people say to do, and what ILGM's website says to do. And not as long as they say to do it either, because i dont want to drown them.. I did the 2nd round slightly different from the first round, just to see if it worked any better. The 3rd round, ill skip the soak and go straight to paper towel and ziploc. Im no expert is an understatement, but i have germinated quite a few seeds throughout the years with this being the ONLY time ive had issues. With that being said, I will skip the soak next time.. Thanks for your advice..
