Another story that proves guns make people safer

To be honest, ^^^ this. Or at least I wouldn't have been the person to help first. You don't have to believe it, I'm not losing sleep over it.

You guys can keep on parroting I'm some bigoted person or a liar for helping though.

Edit: parallel parking. Ever driven down a residential area with on street parking and seen the mayhem from hit-and-run drunks?!? One place I go, It's almost daily where you find half a bumper and broken turn signals on the street. I would rather live in a trailer than park in the street!

Can I just ask how many of you Americans have actually seen a gun in real life, being carried, shot, etc by anyone other than law enforcement?

Sounds like a weird question im sure but i really think the answer is weirder.
Yeah, I saw two trashy white crackheads arguing in a speedway parking lot in Richmond indiana, then one guys girlfriend spat on the dude, then they went to their cars and one starting shooting...... Then he peeled out, over -corrected, and hit a tree at 15mph. All the shit flew out of his truck bed.

he backed up and drove away.

I found a free set of really nice jumper cables that flew outta the bed :blsmoke:

Not gonna lie, took me 15-20 seconds to do anything. Once guys starting gathering around and we noticed no gun bulge, so we just kinda swarmed him when everybody was in arms reach.

I had been hassled by a pack of homeless/drunk mexicans not 2 minutes prior (maybe 8am??). Downtown Phoenix......

I was not in the mood... I was already tense after being surrounded by the (hostile) Mexicans not 100ft away.

Fucking downtown..... Anywhere with on-street parking, really.

"you Americans"?

Hey, homeschooled, do you know that The Americas are two continents?

So getting back to the OP of this therad.

A gaggle of good guys with gunz, practicing killing people at a gunshop/gun range managed to stop a fellow gun nut from picking off four before they could put him down. They call that "guns make people safer".

Good god you guys are dumb.

Fellow gun nuts use holsters and don't fire warning shots in the air.... Nor do they lose their temper and shoot at authority figures, or in this case a woman enforcing the rules that literally EVERY gun shop has.
Nobody carries with a 31rd mag in a glock either.

Dude came in looking for trouble. This was probably his general direction for the day, he probably just hesitated at the door.

It's illegal to conceal a gun without a holster in most states, and even though open carry is legal, you can be charged with inciting panic.
Responsible gun owners are aware of this.

"guns make people safer" lulz

Five dead or injured when a gaggle of wannabe Machete's were attacked, while their loaded guns were in their hands. That's the real story. You guys have watched too many action films.

I despise action films, it's so cringy.

Ahh, I miss the rhetoric from some of the older ones... I remember in lethal weapon when Mel Gibson holds up a regular ass 9mm cartridge with a pointy bullet and goes "thets eh cawp killeh rowuund" then the saxophone wails like "wheeeeeeooooooo" in the traditional cop-drama fashion.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or are you actually so stupid as to be unfamiliar with the colloquial meaning of the moniker "Americans"?

For real living in Michigan I think you would be hard pressed to find any adult male that hasn't see someone shoot a gun in real life. I think you would find that far more than you will that have seen a cop fire their weapon.

well I do have what are referred to as "hot loads" H-110 half a grain under max :) I bet with a regular hard cast lead bullet, they would penetrate a best far better than a FMJ out of a 9mm.

An effective load for what Mel Gibson was referring to would probably be a sabot, like a skinny .177-.22 cal *steel* bullet riding in a plastic case.

the thing is a .357 mag is borderline able to penetrate a soft vest, it's effectively the same diameter as a 9mm luger (~.355), but with nearly twice the power.
So calling a 9mm a cop killer is kinda silly considering an "average" 357 is the limit of a soft vest.
