First ever grow

Hi guys, this is my first ever grow. I went with top fed drip irrigation in rockwool draining the waste. Plants are currently at Day 14 after transplant, roots just popped out the bottom of the cubes - any thoughts or pointers on what to look out for in the next little while? Going to be topping in a few days, flipping to flower latest at day 28. Photo taken day 12. Super excited to be growing and be a part of this forum!

Not gonna lie, that’s pretty high level for your first grow! Props!

edit: high level in general

What are you feeding them? How much? How often. What EC? What pH?

You have some yellowing in the margins which looks like possible overwatering or deficiency.

Great job so far!

Hey! Thanks so much for responding. I think at the point of taking the photo I did overwater which perhaps led to some deficiencies - also perhaps light intensity was an issue too. They have bounced back so so well and look beautiful now - see la eat pics. We are planning on defoliating today, vegging for two day, setting the first set of trellis netting at the end of the week then flipping to flower officially next Monday!
I’m currently feeding them green planet nutrients GP3 with the additives but I’m already thinking of swapping to Athena for the next run. We are now at day 25, I’m currently feeding at about 1.7EC (850ppm). I give them six shots at about 100-125ml throughout the day, and they are drinking like crazy. Any pointers on what to look out for as we defoliate and prep to go into flower would be super helpful!

I’ll take that as a compliment! I will admit that my experience as a drainage design engineer has come in very handy! Also my wife is an HVAC design engineer as well so we did have some good applicable skills before this - we both moved over to Canada in 2020 and as a long time cannabis lover (in an environment where smoking ganja was a hard no), we pretty much immediately started trying to get into growing like it’s a dream come true!

Nice work, is it complete drain to waste or are you recirculating some of the run off? How is the runoff drained ?

How long does it take each floraflex take to deliver the 100-125ml via those 4mm line supply and are you filtering, using a PRV etc?

Are you vegging and flowering in same room? looks like a 9x5 or bigger tray ?

Thanks!
It’s complete drain to waste. It only comes out to a few litres a day total from all the plants so it’s not wasting too much. I drilled a hole in our 4x8 trays and just use wood to create a tilt in the tray.
Honestly the most inconsistent part of the setup is the floraflex bubblers - I keep having to fiddle with them to get volumes consistent for all plants. I’m gonna be adding emitters directly to the tubing soon. Yes Vegging in the same room.

I am going to use the Netbow rings attached to the floraflex or similar manifold. I had been trying to find one that was 6mm for larger water supply but could only find 4mm with the spagetti tube. Currently i have a timer set to water more and more each time over 4 watering's. At the moment i have a mix of emitters as the netbow only comes in one size so bit annoying. I am trying to also regulate the flow so they all get run off the same time.

What emitters are you looking at?

Nice job, hope you enjoy your new passion. I'd grow even if I didn't smoke, it's therapeutic..

They are going to outgrow that space easily. Looks like some purpling stems, using Ca/mg? Any intake or co2 for those ladies?

I remember that first picture well, fantastic setup. Theyve grown quite a bit! Looking awesome. Congrats on the successful first run so far, keep it up!
