If I can get these or another model of theirs and get just about the same results as the Chilled or Photontek lights I’m about to get I could save some decent cash. No light expert though and don’t get how these are so much cheaper than the others. Ha. Glad I decided to wait until 4/20 to see if there are any deals on the lights I was deciding between, because I would’ve never come across these.
It is crazy when you compare the par charts of those lights to this one...like, definitely sounds too good to be true...BUT the same guy did the testing for all of them, and the methodology seems sound, or at least, consistent across their reviews. Seems like they make up for the less efficient diodes with sheer quantity. I asked the rep a ton of questions, they're quick to answer if you think of any. If you aren't in a hurry, it's probably a good idea to wait and see how these play out. I don't mind being a guinea pig lol. At least they're UL listed so I'm not too worried about bursting into flames!

No, it was on my list. Finally had the list down to Chilled and Photontek, but then decided to wait until 4/20 to see if any sales pop up because I don’t really need the lights until flower and I haven’t even popped seeds yet for this next run. Then this thread popped up and has me thinking about saving a decent amount of money instead. Ha.

I'm was the same way, I was torn! I compared par tests for 4x4s for a couple of days. Oh, just an fyi the guy who was given the test light from cocoforcannabis started a youtube grow journal using it, he's got it in a 5x5 right now vegging his plants, so you can see it in action as his grow progresses-i forgot his name but it was easy to find. I'm sure you'll see a bunch more reviews-the rep said they are selling out fast after the cocoforcannabis review.
Hemp with GG is his name and the plants are looking really good
I have 2 coming at the end of the week I just couldn't pass on them at that price

Yes, that's the guy. Looking forward to seeing your grow! I'm pretty hyped to try this thing out in my 4x4, but I want to see how people do in a 5x5 area because I'm constructing an 8 light room and I'm sort of testing this light out with that in mind.

Anyone checked out the 880W ones they have with the UV/IR bars and whatnot? I’ve always wanted to give UV a try. Pretty cool how the one model has the controller built in and you can daisy chain up to 50 to that model of the cheaper model and control them with the one controller. Saves you $100+ per light after the first and the usual $300 or so for a controller initially. Thinking about maybe trying one of each of those and seeing how they do. I only have 10’x10’ flower area, so I’d only need two more lights if they work out well. Unless someone comes on and let’s me know why that’s a dumb idea, I’ll probably just grab those two for my next run. Cleaning the room this week and then popping seeds next week or so.

Did you ever get these lights... whats your take on them?
I did get one but unfortunately, I haven't been able to test it out yet. Getting into my 4x4 is going to be tight lol, the thing is huge. It would fit nicely in a 5x5. I'm waiting for my current crop to finish up before I set up my new grow, but once I do, I'll document the entire thing. I've been watching Hemp with GG's progress with this light, so far so good.

Can't find the channel. I am interested in this light too I want to see it in action. Do you have a link for the videos?
You can go to the Coco for cannabis website and he did a journal there also on YouTube check out hemp with GG he just Harvest
I have four of these lights going in my room now I'm about 2 weeks away from Harvest but that would be only half the time with these lights

Has anyone seen this thing? Shipped out of the US? looks like samsung LM301z plus diodes, 4000k 90 CRI. i think it has over a 2k diode count.

Par Test:

Many brands try to lower the cost by scrimping on diodes. However, the Medic Grow Fold 8 uses a high quantity of name brand diodes. There is a total of 2,800 Samsung LM301Z+ diodes. In addition, there are 64 Osram 660 nanometer diodes. I inspected the diodes to ensure that they are authentic. The diodes check out. They do not help us solve the mystery about why this fixture is so affordable.

The driver may be a different story. The driver is housed within the center chassis of the fixture. It is not possible to remove it or even inspect it without disassembling the fixture. The representative explained that the driver was specially designed for this fixture and manufactured by Sosen. The driver performed well during my testing. If there were serious issues, it would get hot and lead to poor system efficiency. It did not get hot and the system was very efficient.
