Taking new cuttings: Small fan leaves curling up right away

Light is 2.5 feet away and is like a 40watt veg bulb... There is a stronger light about 4 feet away off to the side (not directly under cuttings). This light is about 200 watts.
 
cant be the light then, i have had this happen to me before, i would just see how they do, incant see any reason why it should affect them too much from my experiance anyway
 
Only 3 cuttings did this out of 10 and of the 3 that did this 1 was only semi bad.... I moved the cloner away another foot.

My growing game is an A+, but I have issues with clones... I was getting a 95% clone root rate, now the last 3 cutting cycles its been about 60% root rate 15 days later.

Yeah this time I left the 2 bigger fan leaves on the cuttings and only 1 fan leave has slightly curled up in the 3 of 10...Before this the main flower was turning purple about 1 week into the cuttings... This time I ph downed and added clonex to boost the ppm from 150 (tap water) to 300... Previously I just used tap water and did not ph down, but that was causing the purple flowers on the cuttings after 7 days and they would die off which is why I said clones are only rooting at a 60% rate lately.
 
i usede to take cuts and do them in a closed heated propagator, but ive just baught a misting clone/seedling unit and i can say it was money well spent for speed of cuttings and strike rate and seedlings germinate in 2 days no problem. a must buy in my opinion. the unit uses a micro misting unit. perfect every time
