.

I schwaze on days 1 and 21 of flower. I've been doing this for 2 years and I find that my harvests are greater than non-schwaze.

I've read three hypothesis for this, I think one is false:

1. More airflow - If this were the case we'd all just have fans blowing air to the buds for larger harvests. False.
2. More direct light to the bud sites
3. Plant reaction to loosing so many leaves.

On day one? You don't give them 2-3 days to recover before flipping?

IMO I always looked at defol as part of your particular grow style.……
say SCROG then I would lollipop the green whores. Because of flattened canopy .
Or if I decided to hub / manifold them , I be stripping shit then too.
Tucking leaf is still a thing I would think too.

Not in the world of make believe ... :weed:
You saying Hobbes is full of shit?
I hope not cause I've seen his journal and what he says he does......he does
Pretty sure I've seen parts of his journals here and there for over a decade. He just tells it like it is, don't think he's trying to tell stories or fool anyone, he always seems really honest and truthful with his posts

So what I do is selectively strip soaler panels in veg……I 4 way lst and iv seen enough to know that theirs always a few run away branches no matter how hard I train and no mater how diligent I am……I can say this for 100% confidence After seeing it dozens of times with dozens of plants…….during veg (late veg) if I see a run away branch that’s 3+ inches higher than the rest……I strip that branch of every leaf BIGGER THAN A DIME!!!……I leave the smaller ones their because iv noticed….A. The branch will stop stretching because it’s growth panels have been removed, while the others will continue without skipping a beat……iv seen his every single grow regardless of strain or pheno….. that to me is proof that cannabis operates in such a way that leafs on one branch power growth on the one branch…..and B. She dumps energy into growing those dime sized leafs to make them grow, instead of powering steam elongation……….now moveing on into early flower (first 3 weeks of 12/12 for PHOTOS!!)……me personally……I strip them BARE!….again any leaf bigger than a dime that’s not on a new growth tip gets removed 1 day before flip……..then again on day 18-21…..only this time I go hard……every thing leaf that has a steam that’s long enough of me to pinch off with my fingers or micro snips, gets removed……..3 days following that……every grow……I can’t even tell I did anything….however…….because of how I grow my plants….I need to be able to see and get in their and re-adjust ties, and add more and move branches to different spots every day…..EVERY DAY!!!!…..no exceptions……thinning the canopy out like that makes it WAYYYYY easier…….it’s a lot of work but doing it this way has enabled me to fill up 4x4 and 5x5 canopy areas with 1 plant….sitting on a 8-9 week veg from seed, I can fill up a 10x10 tent with 4 plants……my goal this go is an honest 2lb per plant……I won’t hit it on the one because she’s a low Yielding strain…..but the one under my optic led 650s I feel confident about……I don’t run co2….but she’s closer to that 2lb mark than iv ever been before……again this is just me and how I do things……I feel like if buds didn’t need direct light to grow…..no one would be lollipopping, pruning….or trimming bull shit at the bottom of a plant…….to me that….and….the fact that every multi million dollar harvest in these giant facilities defoliate heavily on day 1 of 12/12….then again on day 18-21 of 12/12…………your talking about the best of the best…..people pulling on a consistent bases 3+lbs a light…..some of the, pulling 4+ lbs a light…….if it didn’t work I doubt very highly they would not only pay the over head charge in workers doing it….but also risking cross contamination of dozens of people going in their with god knows what kind of spores attached to them and leaf strip……if it didn’t work these places would be dumping $$$ and taking a risk to do it……..that’s my 2c

Adding few questions to the equation of def/no def.

What would happen if you remove leaves from your plant? Would nutrient's uptake drop? raise? stay the same?

Where does nutrients are going when there's an uptake? :)

Can you post pics of your 10x10 with 4 plants please that you vegged 8-9 weeks?

The long run on stream of consciousness format asside, so far, he at least he made an effort to weigh in on the OPs question from about 30 pages ago.

No claims of 400 pound harvests or talk of having the wife and genius homeschooled toddlers helping with all the trimming. The day is still young though…

I said I could….not I do…..if I can fill a 5x5 to the gills with one or a 4x8 with 2….a 10x10 would be anything but 3 more plants since it’s 4 5x5 areas…..
