Looking for the skunkiest roadkill smelling strain...

Premium Seeds out of Oregon has a Skunk #1 that I'm currently growing and just entered week 7. It's skunky, maybe not as skunky as OP would like but maybe worth looking into. I was gifted the seed along with a trainwreck from the same company. They are both listed as "landrace" strains and they go on to explain what that means then in the actual seed description they talk about breeding so I don't know what to think. It is skunky though.

The everlasting search for RKS continues...
Everyone who is searching for those true rank Skunk terps are going to be disappointed if they search through Skunk1. Even SamSkunkman admits he bred away from the Skunk smell as he preferred the high from the sweeter types.

Much of the true Skunk-Spray smells could be found in many of the early Afghani varieties, and are where I believe the term "SkunkBud" originated. Folks were calling weed Skunk long before Sam arrived w Skunk1 in Holland.

The famous Super Skunk (aka MassSuperSkunk) involved in creation of Sour Diesel was originally from Nevil's work. He bred the Skunk1 to his AfghanT which he claimed really put the Skunk smell back into the line. This further cements the theory that those old Afghans are really where one should look if you want to find the true Skunks of legend

If your super interested in the Skunk I would check out NotsoDog and Riot's BreedersSyndicate podcast. NotsoDog had lots of hands on experience w that old Super skunk and is a great source of info. Also SkunkVA's episode on ThePotCast he goes into the details of how the Super Skunk made its way from VA to Mass and Cali. Look at the polaroids he shared of the old Super skunk and you can definitely see the similarity to the Sour⛽

Closest I've found to a true RKS stank is the Giesel cut. It's super Skunky, but also has something to it I can't quite describe. Not that pure RKS smell or taste, but the closest I've found so far
I may be wrong so feel free to correct me but im sure i heard on one of the potcast episodes not sure what one tho that the mass super skunk was actually a mix of two different super skunk lines from two different breeders

The "Mass Super Skunk" is a bit confusing. The original Super Skunk cut came from one of SkunkVA's mentors, who later traded it for a Chem91 cut from Chemdog himself. So the SuperSkunk went from Virginia to Mass and Cali, and the 91 went from Mass to Virginia and Cali as well. SkunkVA lays it all out in his episode of ThePotCast. Most assume that the original Virginia Skunk is what was involved in making the Sour Diesel. However people with first hand experience with the Virginia Skunk, mostly SkunkVA and NotSoDog, have said the "Mass Super Skunk" cut that Chemdog had is a much shorter more indica leaner than that original Skunk that had huge stretchy colas very reminiscent of the Sour Diesel. That MSS cut from Chemdog is definitely different, but where it came from and what the genetics are is a mystery to me. Haven't heard anyone say definitively what it is. I believe this is the cut used to make Giesel.

That original Super Skunk cut from Virginia is considered to be lost unfortunately.

Sucks to hear its gone it was the original mass cut i was talking about but thanks for explaining the difference in cuts.

The original mass ss sounds interesting with the different architecture to your average ss then the cut you describe that chemdawg used sounds more like a typical ss pheno kinda makes me wonder if the original one was a sport in that regard then

The Mass Super Skunk wasn't around until after Chemdog got the VA SuperSkunk. So really the VA cut is the original. Others have done a bunch of speculating on how Chemdog got the MSS cut (a cross or S1 of the VA cut seems to be the prevailing theory) but it doesn't really matter in the end. That MSS was still a super nice cut. Some say the MSS that goes around these days isn't the same as the one Chemdog had, just to add some more confusion, lol.

Since Nevil's Seedbank release of Super skunk was AfghanT x Skunk1 it would make sense that some would throw phenos leaning toward the AfghanT mother, which he said is where the stank came from

It's funny you say that, cuz when my wife first smoked some she said it tasted like "a skunk sprayed on my movie popcorn". I never really got the popcorn thing, but maybe she meant buttery lol. That's definitely a good description of it
haha yeah no popcorn but buttery, earthy/spice, skunk/diesel. something like that.

Very potent! It's a nice balanced high, but can lay ya in the dirt if you over do it . I had to chop them early last run, and they were still great smoke, which I wasn't expecting.
same i chopped mine early last round and it still some potent stuff. everyone was wanting some.

Got A.K. Bean Brains Big Bud x Skunk and Stardog x superskunk . Dude emailed me back answering my Q's. his catalog is a treasure trove of old school mid 90's even 80's gear. very reasonable prices. got a Romulan bx from him also. just started Rombx. About to crack on the new moon bigbug skunk and stardog super skunk. Beanbrains hooked me up each vile had random xtra amount of beans like 15+ instead of 10 or whatever is advertised and he threw in a blue diesel x kali mist f3 tester. Positive visulalization = I'm fixin to get me that old school skunk I have heard way way too many older cats I respect lement that it no longer exists. Beanbrains seems to be the real deal for mid 90s gear .........we shall see
Just grew one out from a buddy of my but it wasn't the real deal

Who have the best Giesel (seed)?
right now. Riot seeds bluperskunk. Or IG @ crybabyorganics if he still has any left. Crybaby did a few fem crosses with the giesel. His Rubber City (Sour Diesel x Sensi Star) x Giesel will be fire. Moreless a Deathstar x Giesel.

i should have some giesel bx1 soon.
