My bad lol. I’ve read it’s sweet bull-shiz & I’ve read that’s it’s skunky, but a lot of people don’t know what skunk weed is.
GMO is not even close to skunk whatsoever.
I’m going to pop all 10 and see if I got a lucky pack with a skunky pheno that hopefully has no sweetness. But I’m not a purist and haven’t had anything skunky in a forever so I’ll take whatever skunk it has. And I’ll report if the news is good

The ONLY people who MIGHT have real skunk are old growers who aren't online. The more time goes by, the less likely anyone will ever find it again. It was never sweet. It was never fruity. It was like a wet, choke-you-dead, mustard gas. If you find it, you know. If you aren't sure, you don't have it. I honestly believe it still exists in the rural areas of the south western states. Parts of Arizona, southern Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. Maybe Utah. I remember in 2011 being in a bar near the 4 corners region, and in walks a group of kids, either late teenagers or early 20's, absolutely reeking of skunk. Completely stinking up the whole place. Everybody was looking at them. That's the last time I remember that weed smell sticking to people so entirely. It was skunk. The more branded strains take hold, and the more industrialized everything gets, the more the true old stuff will vanish. If nobody gets it soon, it will be lost forever.

When I made my last seed purchase of Ace Seeds. The description for my Killer A5 Haze was a bouquet of rotten meat/liver and I think they sort of mention the same for my Golden Tiger x Panama seeds as well

FWIW Mr nice put out "new skunk" for those that want to hunt through seeds:

New Skunk
Not so new skunk but a new version of this old time classic. MNS has released a version to try and help those who are looking for that old skunk phenotype that has that unique skunk aroma…yet it will take some selection but will satisfy those on this quest…..good hunting. While most of the plants are very stable there are some extreme expressions which take between 20 and 50 seeds to show up in and for those hunting it should be noted. Also named Road Kill. Flowering time: 7 to 9wks for good weight and impressive flowers.

I’d be cool if they did the work & narrowed the line down so that the geno will show up more often.

If they did that, they wouldn't be able to sell 20-50 seeds to us poor RKS loving suckers

New Skunk isn’t… new. They’ve been offering that line since late 2015/early 2016. It’s on their forum, and just looking at it now someone described their RKS to Neville and he said they were looking for super skunk.

Running a pack of Kandahar Red, waiting on a pack of Kandahar Black and also running Balochistan #4, looking to cross both of these landraces to get a nice red pheno with some old school terps.. I get em directly from a few preservationists and never been let down. Sometimes ILE, Irrazing and Mandala don’t show stuff on their site, but they have a lot of people and networks on social media etc and if you know the right person you can get a hold of these.

I’ll post picks and start a thread on the cross project

Exactly why I got it lol. Rotting Protein and fruit etc. And it was cool looking into why the plant evolved into this type of cultivar in that region.

Im in Phoenix, indoor grower. But dabble with some outdoor here and there. And it’s hot and dry here, so I looked into landraces and heirloom cultivars with similar climates.

I love old school sativas… mind altering, heart racing and forehead all clammy.. like how am I supposed to drive now type of herb, and these old landraces are responsible for just that. So I think crossing this Kandahar Red, Female, with the right profile I like, maybe two.. with the Balochistan #4 male, which also tends to have red phenos in it and it’s own unique terp profile to give it that sativa high.. as well as preserve old school genetics ya know

Man, I’m hoping for the best.

I got the 15 Balochistan 4 beans to pop.. I was waiting to make sure that went well, so will be popping the Kandahar Red as soon as I’m back from a small personal trip.

I get nervous with landrace beans, they can be finicky..

Pics of the Balochistan poking out
