I run the room at 80-82 degrees........ and no need for Low Stress Training- my results are equal if not better than going thru that. The tallest plant in the room is only 18 inches high. I'm getting around 2.3 GPW in every grow, why would I change a thing???? A 4 X 8 space is averaging over 100 oz a grow, more than enough for my needs. LST is alot more work in the end, and it's just not necessary. The issue right now is it's a leafy strain, I knew this going in as it was exactly the same the first time I grew it.

And, after watering this morning, I'm again thinking about pulling every plant out of the room and defoliating heavily one more time. I just can't reach everywhere and at 1 week into flowering today, it may be the perfect time to get at it. I'm not happy about it, but I will be in a few weeks as it opens up the plants to allow more light lower for better bud development.

Ugh, I kind of convinced myself I think just to get at it.............

Defoliation may shock the plants a bit, but the LED's, with all their white light, minimizes the stretch beyond belief. I typically never get more than 1 foot of stretch, even with 80% sativa's (like this strain). The real purpose of the defoliation is to deleaf the plants to allow the light to have deeper and wider penetration. With that, you'll get bigger buds down each branch. It also allows for better air flow, reduces places for bugs to hide and maximizes growth to the buds, rather than the leaves.

So looking at the pic, I still see some leaves that need to be removed as there are bud sites directly below them. Otherwise, I'm glad I spent the time to make everything right today. This room will look spectacular in a week, I promise.......
No doubt at all bud ,do you tend to defoliate lightly on a daily basis now untill end of flower or just once a week or so ?

Also another question about your watering schedual, what % of water do you tend to water at every watering?

Do you aim for a certain % of dryback betweem waterings also?

I’ve already defoliated a lot already, twice heavily. Now I’ll just remove leaves as they get bigger and block developing buds below. Probably nothing more is needed now.

I use about 15 gallons every watering. With the dehumidifier now on, that will mean watering just about every day. As the plants develop, they use more water so each time I water, the pots are pretty dry. I don’t want drooping plants, but enough dryness will cause the roots to develop better while they search out more water.

I under water if anything..........and remember, you need to cut back on ppm with so much watering going on. I let the plants tell me what they need and how much. Last night I watered with 3 ml cal/ mag and nothing else.....always to 6.3 pH in promix, but that’s just me. You should not let ptomix dryout totally, as it concentrates the salts in the pot too high. After the top 3 inches or so of the pot is dry, they should be watered.

Thanks for the reply

Is there any reason why you use promix over lets say coco/perlite or rockwell cubes?

If im asking to much just let me know i dont want to fill up your grow journal im just curious as im a relatively new grower compaired to the experience you have

Just waiting for my gavitas to arrive then il be starting a complete new set up so would like to get all information that i can get hold of as being from the uk its not to easy to obtain and most growers keep there tricks of the trade to themselves

Im going to run coco/perlite and athena proline with the gavita 1700e
