Okay dokes. With promix I want the soil to dry out as well correct? It's not like Coco were I need to water everyday?

No, you do not want it overly dry......just the top 3-4 inches in the mix, than water again. If you let it dry out too much, the salt concentration (remember, fertilizer is a salt) gets too high in the medium. There’s different views on it though, some let it go til the plants are almost wilting- I don’t.

Thanks for the replies guys..

The plants look so healthy!!

Sorry to derail.. just to clarify..in the UK it is illegal to grow ANY plants. Its just that if your caught with less than 9 you can get away (maybe) with personal use and no jail(maybe). You still get busted for cracking a single seed.

Joke country.

I just wanna grow enough for myself.
My bro lawyer friend told me it was illegal to grow in Washington State. Said it's a felony. I was like nooooooo. He said yup, and further amazed me by saying that if you had product not in its original container that too was a felony. I was stunned into silence. These Anslingers just will not give it up.

It’s interesting that I get that question a lot. It’s 3 rows of 4 plants, the first two rows are easy to get to. Remember there’s 2 sides so I have to do everything twice. The back row I just go in low and push the branches off to the side. I’ve had friends come in and have to water for me if I was away and they all struggle with it. I’m gentle with them, just a nudge off to one side or the other. I used to dread watering, now it’s just “business”…….

Just a quick question , do you put your seedlings directly under the gavita at 100% from start to finish?
If so how many inches above the seedlings do you keep the light?

Yes, sprouted in paper towels and then planted directly into 4-5 gallons pots under the Gavita’s. Initially the lights are at around 40 inches. Gavita makes a master controller to dim the lights so you don’t have to raise and lower them. I own it but have never used it......... so the gavita’s from start to finish.

Thanks mate that was the main reason behind my questioning i didnt want to pay the extra for the controller would rather the labour of moving lights up and down and used to growing from cuttings not a seed man but looking for my own strains in the near future

I tell people if it's just 1-2 LED's, move them yourself. If it's more, then switch to the controller. I should also mention you lose about 10% of your light intensity running the led's thru the adapters and controller. Gavita claims thats not the case, but it's a proven fact by numerous sources who have light meters and measure constantly.

With cuttings, I'd have to maintain 2 rooms, which the wife screams about. So, I've just been buying seeds now for many years and it works fine. The key is just making good choices.

Dont you have enough space for a small veg tent? When running from seed the only reason im doing that is to find some phenos to keep as mothers to clone from to be honest i prefur to have a more consistant strain rather than a mixture of all different phenos as they show different atributes depending on wether they lean towards the mother/father involved in the breeding to make the seeds

Can run at 115% using the controller tho!

I think that’s for hps only, not led’s- or so I’ve been told. This was discussed in great detail in my original thread of Orange Gasm over at ThcFarmer. I did go back to the master controller manual and no where does it say in there you can increase the % over 100% for led’s. But I know you can for hps.

To this, I’d say my people like a variety. They don’t want me doing the same thing over and over. I had to give a detailed explanation as to why I was growing this Orange Gasm again. I have 2 additional grow rooms not being utilized, which I now use for storage. Space is not the issue as I have a nice size house, it’s the issue with the wife and her bitching about me growing anything. That’s our deal, 1 room and no more.

Years ago, late 1980’s, I had a mother plant of Nevil’s The Seed Bank’s N.L. 5 x 2, which probably gave me more than 2500 clones over her life. The root system was so big and thick, I used to machete it down to control its growth. Best strain I ever grew.......... I lost her in a bust, along with 750 of her clones- from babies to full sized plants in an industrial park grow.

I did talk to Gavita customer service previously, I was looking for the conversation.......they pointed me to the manual.

"You can use this setting to boost your lamps to a maximum of 115%".......this is a copy and paste from the Master Controller manual.

The boost only works with lamps (bulbs), not LED's.

You’ve never experienced this have you @SSHZ ?

Woke up this morning and 3 bars are off… tried the classic on and off treatment but to no avail.38CCED37-3CAF-4BB7-8A44-D35E57A95E2D.jpeg

Nope, never had that happen. I guess we'll see how good their warranty is. Personally, I keep a back up (Medic Grow Fold 8) in storage just in case this ever happens to me. And I still own 2 1000 watt hps just in case too. GL, keep us informed.

The company I bought it from got in touch real
Fast and are offering to ship it off to test it.

Trouble is I’m halfway through flowering… will let this ride out and then send it off once they’re done.

Got my 600w hps/MH setup but can’t be assed faffing about getting more ducting and a smaller carbon filter
